Columbus Ohio: Cold-case unit makes arrests in 5 killings

Tips, witnesses, physical evidence and time helped the Columbus police cold-case squad close out four cases in the past four months, detectives said yesterday.
They highlighted the five killings in the cases and reminded the public that, no matter how long ago a homicide occurred, police are always looking for information.

WOW! Amazing discovery in Custer Co, OK
2 different cars found in same lake, beside each other, solving 2 separate decades old cold cases!

Submerged cars found in Okla. may solve cold cases
    http://www.cnn.com/2013/09/18/us/okl...ies/index.html
Foss Lake, Oklahoma (CNN) -- It began as routine training with new sonar equipment on an Oklahoma lake. But what highway patrolmen found from their boat was macabre.
It was a car. And, as they were to discover later, there were bones and skulls inside.
Then, equally surprising, they found another car. And it had bones inside it, too.
Rusted and caked with mud, a 1952 Chevrolet and a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro held as many as six bodies.
The recovery of the vehicles and remains Tuesday have residents near Foss Lake, a reservoir about 110 miles west of Oklahoma City, wondering whether two mysteries -- involving disappearances that the town of Sayre never forgot -- can finally be put to rest.
Investigators say they believe one car may have belonged to a teenager who disappeared with two friends in 1970, and the other car could be linked to the disappearance of a man in the 1960s who a federal official says was with a sibling and a friend, officials told CNN and its affiliates KFOR and KOCO.
Darrell Splawn, a diver with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, was sent down on Tuesday, one week after the sonar located the corroding vehicles. They were right next to each other, at a depth of 12 feet and 50 feet from a marina. Visibility was almost nil.

I heard of the case of the missing teens, read in detail.... I really believed they had been victims of a serial pedophile killer, like the infamous Dean Corll of Houston Texas was known to roam a bit.

Wow this news is just stunning!

Another Case Solved, similar to the above:
Authorities find car believed connected to disappearance of 2 girls in 1971

    http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/09/23...cmp=latestnews

Authorities have found a car believed to be related to the 1971 disappearance of two 17-year-old South Dakota girls, officials said Monday.
Attorney General Marty Jackley and Union County Sheriff Dan Limoges said the car recovered from an embankment in Brule Creek is believed to be related to the disappearance of Cheryl Miller and Pamella Jackson. The girls were last seen on May 29, 1971, driving a beige 1960 Studebaker Lark on their way to a party.
Dexter Brock, Jackson's brother-in-law, said the news came to family members Monday morning just two days after they buried Pamella Jackson's father, 102-year-old Oscar Jackson. Relatives were just getting ready leave the Brocks' house in Sioux Falls to head home when the phone rang.

^^^^^ sadly, the man suspected in murdering these 2 girls was never brought to justice and ended up killing and raping more women after. He is now in prison.

Another sad side note, the father of one of the girls just died this month.

By Far The Weirdest Cold Case I Have Ever Heard Of.

Elderly Couple Each Charged With Murdering There Ex Spouses In Wyoming Over 3 Decades Ago
    http://www.cnn.com/2013/10/02/justic...-case-arrests/
Now the elderly couple have been charged with killing their ex-spouses in separate, chilling incidents.
Gerald Uden has also been charged with the murder of his ex-wife's two children, who were 10 and 12 when they died in 1980, authorities said.
Authorities in Christian County, Missouri, arrested the couple, who are now in jail awaiting extradition to Wyoming, where the alleged killings took place.

Alice Uden is suspected of killing her ex-husband, Ronald Holtz, in late 1974 or early 1975, when he was 25 years old. She was arrested Thursday and charged with one count of first-degree murder.

Gerald Uden is suspected of killing his ex-wife, Virginia, and her two children, Reagan and Richard, in September 1980.
He was charged Friday with three counts of first-degree murder, according to the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation. Gerald Uden told authorities Friday he shot his ex-wife and her two children with a .22-caliber rifle that she had brought so they could all go bird hunting, according to an affidavit.

The crimes, which occurred approximately five years apart from one another, have no listed motive in court documents.

    Read more: http://www.myfoxorlando.com/story/24...#ixzz2phl0bk7C

Seminole County man is has been arrested in connection to a 1981 murder in St. Marys, Ohio.

Paul Hoover, 52, was indicted and arrested on murder charges from a cold case homicide 32 years ago

^^^^^ 32 years? I bet there was an investigator who worked extra hard on this, just to bust his smug face he had from thinking he got away with this.
