I'm just an occasional amazon shopper so the $79/yr fee is enough to dissuade me from joining amazon prime. :P

Thanks for the feedback everyone on Amazon Prime.
Prime says you get shipping in 2 day. I find that if the item is in stock I get it in 2 days anyways.
In the US prime members get access to their TV which is like netflix but I don't think we get that in Canada.
They have a diaper program for prime members but my kids are adults so that is useless to me and unlimited online photo storage??? why so my photos can get hacked? And to put them online is a pain in the butt. I only do it if I am getting a cheap photo album. don't see the value of that.
My kids are in college and university and we could get free prime and I never bothered because it isn't worth the hassle even for free.
US Prime is detailed here

It is much better
Prime members for Canada has only two major benefits :
(1) 2 days free shipping
(2) You don't need to reach minimum of $25 per order in order to qualify for free shipping. However, it only applies to Prime qualified products.
If you are occasional consumer, there is no point to spend $79+tax just for this benefit. If you are frequently consumers, you should have no problem to create $25 per orders. If I need anything within 2 days, I will just go to the store buying it.
Did anyone else get an personal email for a survey worth 30 sb? I completed it but was not credited and I didn't get a confirmation screen stating it was completed.
If you are in Toronto, you'll get your Amazon.ca order in 3 business days so no sense to be a Prime member. But if you are not in Toronto, again not worth, totally agree with lcmt.
^ That happens for SK, as well - very speedy service from Amazon.
Dubs.

You earned 10 SB.
Honestly, I occasionally have trouble to make up order of $25, but this only happens occasionally. Instead of spending $79.99+tax, I would rather spending this money buying something to create a $25 order.
Nevertheless, if anyone find a good deal on the Prime Day (July 15), you can join the Prime membership 30 days trial for free. As long as you are not Prime members in the last 12 months, you are eligible to sign up for a free trial. Here is the rules. However, don't expect you will find something with big discount since Amazon claims it is "More" deal than blackfriday, not "better" deal.

There are only 2 ways Amazon can attract me to become the Prime membership. It is unreasonable to spend that large amount of money just for buying convenient. Absolutely not worth it!!!. I think $7.99 is more reasonable.
(1) Having certain % of discount on every orders I purchase
(2) If I can buy reasonable amount of money within one year and then the membership fee is waived.
If you're a student, you can get a 6 month free trial and I think after that, it's half the regular prime price for amazon.
