Thread: Alright...who was it?!

Hi all....I just wanted to brag a moment about my quick Walmart shop:
All the inexpensive duster starter kits were gone (thanks to my fellow SCers, I'm sure!!), and an associate saw me hunting the shelf...he asked what I was looking for, and when I told him, he said they had something else I might like...
he brought me to a buggy with 3 Extendable Duster Starter kits, and said they had taken them off the shelf because the packaging had been a bit damaged...so he marked them down to $5 each for me, from $10!!! I also grabbed some Ziplock bags, and thought I'd try a printable while I was ahead of the game, lol
Got to the cash, and the woman started laughing at my coupons...when I asked why, she said I had just missed a huge argument between another cashier, a customer, and the store manager regarding the Swiffer coupons. Seems the cashier and manager thought the coupon couldn't be used on the small handled starter kit, and the woman held her ground until they finally read the print, and stopped looking at the pictures. Cashier said that she was trying to help by explaining that the customer was right, and the manager and cashier were being ridiculous. The customer got to use the coupons, but the other cashier and manager were mad. When she saw the markdown, and the coupons, she started laughing again, and complimented me on being creative with my shopping, and then leaned over and whispered "I think you're lucky you got in my line, the other cashier wouldn't honor this!" She also took my printed coupon without trouble, and I happily left having paid less than $8 for all my goodies.
Sad to hear that these coupons are still a hassle, but happy to hear that some people can still read the fine print (even when it's in bold, right under their noses). This thread is currently associated with: Walmart

Congrats on the score!
I just can't believe people (managers/cashiers) are having problems with these words in BOLD:
off any ONE Swiffer Starter Kits
????????????? ANY ONE STARTER KIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
....sorry, I just had to yell it out in case any store employees can hear me......
Geez, its not rocket science or anything.....

A cashier tried that with me too, until I read the coupon to her instead of just letting her look at the picture lol

I find most cashiers read them very carefully. I haven't tried the swiffer one yet though.

I am glad that the associate was able to accommodate you with a replacement product. An event like that would have made my day!
