two of the many complaints i hear

Healthcare sucks. The patients and their families think they can scream and yell at the nurses and get what they want. I know of three nurses who have been physically assaulted since September. No charges laid against the patients because "they are elderly and might have been confused".

When the surgeries are running late don't scream at your nurse, it's the Surgeon who is running late. Nah, they don't yell at doctors.

Day surgeries don't provide full meals, don't expect one. How is that icewater not cold enough???

What, nursing staff are responsible for setting the parking rates?? Wish I knew that sooner.

Most of the areas I work in are elective, so you or your parents chose to have this surgery, it not life saving and you've known it's going to happen for at least four weeks. So your lack of planning for transportation costs, prescriptions, meals while away from home are not the hospitals problem. And no we won't let you stay overnight because it's snowing. The units aren't staffed that way and the cost of one night in my hospital runs at over $1300.

I'm a nurse, not your slave. You can wipe your own bum, you do it at home.

Good ol' retail. We hear ya, girl!
But just remember, if it's beyond your control, let the manager deal with it and don't take anything personally. I remember when I first started my retail job 3 years ago and there would be time where I'd come home in tears cause of some people. Over time it gets easier because eventually you'll hear it all at least twice over.
And just think, for every one bad customer, there's probably 10 good ones following.
