The winds from Sandy have finally moved on from us here today, the weather will start to get back to normal by Saturday

I'm praying for the 114 houses lost to fire overnight in NJ....the news showed firefighters crying, they couldn't do a thing as all the fire hydrants were underwater and the firetrucks couldnt get through the streets The only saving grace is that nobody died in all these fires. Many of the homes lost in this community belonged to people who lost police and firefighters in 9-11 So very sad that some victims get hurt over and over again. We all need a little sunshine every now and then

About three more tree's fallen down and leaning against the other tree's. Wasn't very windy last night, but enough to knock over the rotten tree's. We had bad thunderstorm last night woke me up from sleep around 1am.

holly, it's really just heartbreaking to see the devastation this storm has caused, and I don't just mean the damage to buildings but responders and just those living through the hell. I think all anyone can do is hope and pray that people come through this okay.
I wanted to scream when I heard the Governor of NJ say, "We just need to suck it up and move on". Not even 24 hrs after a devastating storm almost wipes out New Jersey and he says that? I wanted to rip him a new one!
Glad there isn't more damage Matrix. People think that Sandy is done simply because there isn't a Hurricane watch anymore but she's still packing a punch up North now. There are now 2 deaths attributed to Sandy here in Canada. One being the woman in Toronto struck by the fallen sign and a hydro worker died today in Sarnia fixing problems caused by Sandy. It really was a horrible storm.Last edited by TaraF; Wed, Oct 31st, 2012 at 03:24 PM.
