I gave my husband my card and he used up the entire balance. THEN THE STORE STAFF THREW IT AWAY WITHOUT ASKING IF IT WAS REGISTERED.

I got it! Went to Starbucks last night. Got my free "birthday" drink and bought hubby a drink. So now to wait for my $5 to be added. I thought it was cool of them to send a reminder even before I read the free $5 part. Double bonus in my books cuz I forgot I had the card in the first place.

Big thanks for clarification. I would have fallen in the trap otherwise. I did not get email for my registered card, glad I read your post.
