buying SDM gift cards first, and then converting them to whatever GCs AFTER the promo....has it been done b4? Because thats what I was planning to do also. Just want to make sure. Like if I had a SDM gc and wanted to buy an esso card with it right now, I could?

Does anyone think that Shoppers will turn around on November 9th and post a statement on their FB page saying, "We are sorry to inform everyone but we are limiting the gift card purchase to ONE this year, and it is 600 points you will be getting, not 8000. Sorry for any inconvenience."
They've changed other big promos recently....you never know!

Or is everyone NOT worried at all and don't think that our points will be taken away once they see people doing multiple transactions?

I think it will be fine..this isn't a typical promo lately where people can redeem and get double points back. There really isn't away for people to take advantage of this one.

You're only earning $10 worth of points, and spending $150. I'm sure Shoppers gets kickbacks for offering the cards in their store, so it's not really a big point earning venture. I sincerely doubt they'd change the offer.

I strongly doubt it - there is history with this promo - done last year and the year before (only gave 5,000 points in 2010). The Cadbury promo was new; I assume the wipes was too.

I think they may vary from store to store. I went today and they have The Keg, LCBO, Banana Republic, Gap, Winners, Homesense, Swiss Chalet, Dairy Queen, itunes, Apple App store, Chapters/Indigo, La Senza, Tim Horton's, Swiss Chalet/Montana/Kelsey's/Harvey's/Milestones(you can use the same card at any of the 5 restaurants). I only look at the ones I may get and there are many more to choose from.

You cannot pay for a gift card with another gift card, so I don't think that would work.
