Thread: Walmart and Coupons

Had a bad experience today.
First I went to customer service to see if they would take a coupon zone coupon as a price match, they (clerks and supervisor) said no.
then I went through the cash with regular coupons, first they didn't want to take more then one coupon because it said one per purchase, then they said it would be ok but would not give me the overage... 2 floor supervisors and 3 clerks and a bunch of aggravated people behind me, I used 0 coupons today.
*EDIT*: they wanted to reduce the value of the coupon so I couldnt use the credit on other items
I sent head office an e-mail to get my own hard copy of the policy. This thread is currently associated with: WalmartLast edited by ubertec; Mon, Apr 11th, 2011 at 08:39 PM.

I'm in Ottawa too. I've always been given the overage on coupons at Walmart (to cover part of the cost of other purchases, not handed to me as change.)
I'm waiting for awhile before trying out the new policy. I think it's going to take some time to get everyone trained and some of the wording may need to be changed (like the part where it talks about competitor coupons needing to state the amount) because it could lead to confusion.
You might want to let Head Office know, especially if you continue to have problems.

I had a bad experience today at my walmart to. The teller (which had a 10year service name tag), was VERY rude... made me SOO embarrassed... was telling me the coupon I was using was NOT the product I was using. (was using a olay coupon for ANY olay)-- and then she argued that I was using a save $5.00 WUB 2 olay products and the product was only 1.47. That "I" should be sending in that coupon and getting the money back not them... I was sooo upset! She was freaking out at one of her CSR about the coupon policy- That How come she didn't read the new policy blah blah blah ( THATS NOT MY FAULT YOU DIDN'T READ IT) the CRS said it was been posted for 2 weeks now!!!!!. i went over and talked to the store manager after this! I was able to use all my coupons after the end.. but i was very upset!

uh-oh.. i have been using multiple coupons at my Walmart, the cashiers were great its just that, its taking them FOREVER to read the fine print on my coupons (which is really funny to me, cant help but giggle every time) to double check that the details are correct. Sorry to hear about your experience guys.

Seriously what the he** How long does it take to go over this with the frontline staff ? This is not rocket science and being rude is unacceptable. I often wonder why some people get jobs working with the public whan they so obviously dislike the public? Glad it worked out for you, "rude CRS" was wrong, not you. Hold your head high!

i have never been given the overage.. and even showing them the fine print nope no overage.. i just kinda shrugged it off because it was only a few cents and i always feel slightly bad for those behind me in line (i once had a lady gather her stuff up off the belt with a huge huff and head to another line as soon as i stood my ground on the "one per purchase" issue-though she was also the lady who asked me if i was addicted to the advil because i was buying 10)
When life hands you Edward Cullen...throw him back and demand Eric Northman....

I travel around the city for work and have never had a problem at any of the Walmarts I've been to. They have their policy written up now and it's going to be posted on their site. So it should be across the board soon. Let's just give them a couple of weeks to sort things out and train everyone. If there are still problems after that, we can let H.O. know that the policy isn't being followed.
