Has there been any concensus on whether we can or can not stack the new P&G mailed out coupons at LD ? some people have been told they can not stack them, yet other people have successfully stacked them. Has anyone heard anything concrete on the subject yet from LD head office?

yeah I had read that thread which was why I posted the question separately. seems that thread was more about writing to P&G about changing the coupons back and less about what LD is doing about them.

I was told today any coupon with Prohibti (no wording) or limit one coupon per purchase can not be used to stack, so basically my stacking days are over for diapers

I swear I'm going through the stages of grief

that is sad. I know I still have the old version of the pampers coupons so iam hoping to still stack those if possible. Just not sure how LD is dealing with all this right now since P&G has pretty much put in this wording specifically for them.

Ever since P&G changed the wording on their coupons, something's been bothering me. I finally figured out what it is....

I don't understand why P&G CARE if we stack our coupons or not. The argument a lot of people are making is that 'they don't want us to get free products because it costs them money'.

Here's the error in that logic:

Every time a manufacturer prints off a coupon- whether they do it from their website or run it in a flyer, or create tearables- they've accounted for that money. If they print 10,000 coupons for $2.00 off, for example, they KNOW they're going to have to pay up to $20,000 back to retailers, right?

So what difference does it make if one person has 5 coupons, or if 5 people have one? They're out the same amount of money in the end.

This is why it's such bad mojo to duplicate coupons- because that's flat-out stealing (from either the store or the manufacturer). But, in the end, whether we stack coupons or use them individually, the manufacturer is losing money (that they budgeted for). So those of us who are a little more 'extreme' couponers aren't really doing anybody any harm. (Though, I have grown to hate the term 'extreme couponer' thanks to TLC, I won't lie.......)

Anyways, just my two cents. Maybe I just have sour grapes that some people want to make stacking so darned difficult.... it's not as if EVERYONE does it anyways.

Exactly my thoughts, MercuryBlue. Besides, with my free products, I SHARE. I REVIEW. I RECOMMEND. You know how many people suddenly start buying products after I give them a coupon, or give them one of mine to try? Most of them. You give somebody something for free and they WILL keep buying it if they like it, without hesitation. Because the first one was free, there is no push to like it because you spent money on it.

Because I got some free items, P&G made thousands of dollars off of my free advertising. P&G probably made thousands off your free advertising. P&G is probably rolling in the money we're giving them because of free advertising. For every one free item I get of their overpriced products, somebody else who sees me with it will buy one full price. Or two. Or three. Cha ching? I think yes indeed.

    Agreed, Chantel!

When I get products for free, I don't have a huge attachment to them- so I give them to friends and family (if I have a lot) and they use them. If they like them, they wind up buying them.

If anything, P&G is sort of shooting themselves in the foot on this one because they're not really saving themselves any money that wasn't already allocated in their budget. Now I hear P&G and I get a little bit bitter- and I've started looking at other company's products, because they've got better coupons.

yeah, seems a bit extreme for P&G to do this... maybe they budget for all the coupons but only expect that so many of them will be used and were starting to panic at the amount of money they were putting out recently LOL

i do agree it's in bad taste of PG to do this.. in some aspects they are hurting themselves by doing this (it leaves a bad taste in peoples mouths and not JUST stackers)

though typical of me i can see both sides of the coin.. if they print 50,000 worth of coupons they do NOT expect all those coupons to be used.. a good portion of those coupons are usually binned by people who can't be bothered to use coupons and they expect this! (atleast 50% i imagine are tossed), and if they don't allow people to stack my guess is the amount of their marketing/coupon budget will drop even more (more coupons tossed in the bin saving them money!) but still meet the same amount of people using the coupons (since those stackers can't use 10x the amount of their coupons)

On a different site some people are putting in fake Costco memberships to get P&G.
