I don't know if this is across the country, but the cashier at Brentwood Mall in Burnaby said the stores are closing down. The Metrotown one is closing as well. On the window was a creditor's notice that was posted & can't be removed. The cashier didn't know the closing date of her location. I got some great deals there. I had to buy a min of 6 items to get them for $5 & was concerned that I had to get them in groups of 6 & she told me that after 6 items, it was $.84 each. Time to stock up on those huge Christmas gift bags. They had seasonal items out as well - Easter stuff.

it was 5 for $5 at STC a few weeks ago, but now it's 6 for $5 so i think it gets discounted even more the longer, but there will probably be less inventory.

Wow 8 for $5. I just spent $30 there on Thurs night. I'll have to check out the Metrotown one. I always found a better selection on things there since it's a much larger store.

I didn't know the rich people in West Van shopped at dollar stores - LOL!!! No wonder why you manage to get great coupons out there. Maybe some of those rich people don't want to be caught grabbing a coupon which is okay for others who have a hard time finding coupons.

Depends on the store. One near me is pretty picked over but the other one I went to had quite a bit left. Greeting cards, huge Christmas gift bags, boxes of envelopes, hair brushes, journals were some of the things I bought.

Same story with the store inside Kipling Queensway Mall in Ontario. That location has been there forever, but they're slowly disappearing. They also had a store in Cloverdale Mall, but it closed after 5 months.
