Cellphone is a good idea. They may not tell you anything due to privacy but they might tell the police if it's been used.

I think police get tonnes of reports like this every day. Just keep calling/going in and stressing to them that this is EXTREMELY out of character for him.

I hope he comes home safe and sound! Do you have a picture of him???? Post it on here and other websites, like facebook, twitter etc. Maybe someone has seen him. Also, call your local tv station, maybe they can get the word out as well or even your local radio station.

Sorry you don't have better news yet, Draggy. It is true that there's only so much the cops can do until he breaks a law. If it's in CPIC, though, the good news is that now, any officer anywhere in Canada will have an alert pop up if they run him for anything at all. Just because all they can do is suggest that he goes home (because they can't force him to do so) doesn't mean they won't sit him down and explain how freaked out you all are and hand him a phone to call with.

Don't have a lot of details but after 55 hours missing my brother in law is home. We are talking to him now and there seems to be alot going on that we didn't know about. I hope that he doesn't leave again. He's very skittish... :shrug:

I used to live in Ottawa and have first hand knowledge of dealing with the mental health system there, in particular bipolar. PM me if you need advice or to chat about it.

So glad to hear he is home. You mentioned that he might have a history of mental illness. Hopefully he will possibly seek the help me may need. Sending positive vibes your way, stay positive.

After reading this thread makes me so thankful for the people here on SC. They are so supportive and caring. Thank goodness he is home safely. Prayers offered for him and for you and the rest of the family.
