Thank you so much for the update, I'm happy that he's home safely.
I just noticed this thread now, I am so glad he is home! Sending prayers to him and to you and your family as well.
God bless you all.happy to hear he is home:)
Draggy, that's great news. I know you are relieved, as we are...best of luck getting him whatever help he needs. He's got the thing he'll need the most: a family that clearly cares about his welfare and safety. :)
We are getting A LOT of push back and disrespect from him. He doesn't want to be here but has no where else to go. We are all high stress right now. He was shocked/upset we filed a missing person report when he was gone almost 3 days. He told us he crashed his car and that is the only reason he came home with the police. He said he had no intention of coming home for a long time. He didn't think anyone would notice or care.
Awww, thats sad. He needs to know that everyone cares. I'm really hoping he will see that something is amiss and seek out some help from a therapist. There is retally not a lot you can do for him right now, just be there for him if he needs a should to lean on. If you push him, you run the risk of having him leave. It's obvious that something has really pushed him to this point, and he needs to deal with it.
I assuming he wasn't hurt when he crashed his car since the police brought him home instead of to a hospital, so that's a great thing. Just let him know that you're not going to push him, but you'll be there when he needs you. Perhaps you could also let him know, that if he wants it, you could help him find someone to talk to to help with his problems.
Is he manic Draggy? My husband did some crazy crap when he was manic. It was actually kinda scary. The hospital made him promise not to drive or they'd formally take his licence away from him.
Draggy...so happy he's home and safe. But sorry he's going through such an emotional upheaval....I agree with Holly...forcing him to stay might just nudge him away even more...just let him know that he was reported missing because you love him, and that should he feel the need to venture out like that again, at least let you all know about it, and to keep in touch, because you do worry....and that he's welcome home no matter what......Prayers for you and your family.
I'm glad to hear he's home but I'm sorry you're all dealing with so much. Trying to help someone with mental illness is so hard...on the person with mental illness and on those trying to help. And the hardest of all is if the person doesn't want to get help. *hugs* Hope everything works out.
