If anyone was planning to buy a Canon camera this weekend, beware that only 4 models are elligible for the 25$ GC.
It also looks like Shopper's has covered their nut, and will not be giving you a 25$ GC if you buy one of the elligible cameras with your points.
Offer valid from Thursday, November 29, 2012 to Tuesday, December 25, 2012.$25 gift card with the purchase of a participating Canon product.*
*While quantities last. No rainchecks permitted. This offer is only valid on the purchase of a Canon PowerShot ELPH320 HS, Canon PowerShot SX240 HS, Canon PowerShot A2300 and Canon PIXMA MX432 only. Limit of one $25 Gift Card per customer per transaction. This offer cannot be used in conjunction with the December 1st to December 2nd Spend Your Points Event or any other promotions in effect at the time of purchase. This thread is currently associated with: Shoppers Drug MartLast edited by Panache70; Thu, Nov 29th, 2012 at 04:02 PM.

Sdm overprices there cameras by about 20% right off the top. Purchasing a camera from them (not using points) will cost more at sdm than anywhere else, so the $25 card still doesn't make it worth it.

Check with your store anyway often the ones that are not supposed to be given out are
I have been given a GC with purchase when I redeemed etc before so its worth asking even if they are not meant to be done

I bought the printer when they had the same deal two weeks ago. The cashier entered a PLU and the machine asked for a coupon amount. Cashier entered $25. Cashier then sold me a $25 gift card. Gift cards don't count towards redemption, so -- if you did get the gift card while redeeming -- your pre-tax would have to be at least $235 to get full value on a 95,000 point redemption. (This is assuming the cashier I had processed the transaction correctly.)
Abuse coupons, not people!

I checked and the Elph 320HS is 179.99 at Sears.ca and 189.99$ at Amazon.ca. So without the 25$ coupon, redeeming with points is not a good idea as you will "over pay" by 20-30$ (approx 15%).

Just bought a camera there - used my points, got the gift card, and also used a coupon for an extra 16,000 points. The $210 camera was effectively less than $90 after all the discounts. Most stores don't seem to know the rules, so try more than one to get the best deal!
