It's most definitely a cashier's mistake since it's very clear in the FAQ that points cannot be redeemed for them.

Well my DH had to pick his 3rd and 4th video game choice since they were sold out of the top 2. So we got those, some Quo stuff, some perfume, make up, food and snack items, magazines, a gift set, hair stuff, and the only practical thing we bought was 2 boxes of Royale.
Our total was $210.18, I think we paid about $22 oop because of the food not being taxable. All in all, we were quite happy despite the lack of 'mega'.
SDM has been a bit shady this year, so we are re-thinking about our loyalty programs for next year. We'll see how it goes.Kate

I redeemed for $210 and only got 4 items!!! lol Usually, I have 2 buggy's full!
Bought Lancome Teinte Idole 24 hour foundation, Elizabeth Arden cream blush, Lancome kabuchi brush, and a Tony & Guy ceramic flat iron. Nice stuff though! Have enough points to go back tomorrow for a smaller redemption for some food items like Amigo cat food, bacon, eggs, etc.
It is the "fastest" redemption I have ever done!!!!!!!

Just an fyi...I tried last week when I did a redemption for the Wii to buy a $80 dinner & a movie gift card & it scanned through but when it came time to pay, I had to pay for the gift card & taxes. My reward value was minus the gift card, even though the subtotal included the gift card. I ended up taking the card off & getting products to top up my redemption.

Did a 2nd $105 Redemption today. Almost all sale items including PB, Q-tips, lip balm, polysporin, brita refill, Scholls shoe pads, and some other food items. The Sony E-Reader and Blu-ray Player were calling me to take them with me, but I said "maybe next year boys". I am now fully stocked for winter and I will still have 210,000+ Opt pts remaining.
I earned $50 in Amazon Gift Cards in my first month at Swagbucks!!

I went and did one redemption yesterday as hubby was home so I could pick up some stocking stuffer things. Also picked up 6 packs of bacon, 15 cans alphagetti/zoodles, 4 peak freans cookies along with some personal care and OTC meds. If we had a big freezer I would have picked up some boxes of Janes chicken.
