LOL...it was an error on both our parts then I guess...I had no idea you couldn't redeem for gift cards..it's only the 2nd time I've ever done a redemption, did one last Christmas..didn't buy gift cards then.
Heck if it wasn't for this site...I wouldn't even really know much about the shoppers program lol.
However..according to the receipt..they scanned everything including gift cards through (Mastercard gift cards).. totaled it up and took off my redemption points, end of story.
An honest mistake..I'll know for next year, sure as heck am not going back in to rectify it..I've done more than my share of shopping this week :/. Thank god..only a few stragglers left for gifts to buy.

Yep, it's not something I knew initially when I first started collecting points either, but since I'm not a GC user other than getting SDM GCs before a shop on 20x events, I've never tried redeeming for them anyway.

Honest mistake on both parts obviously, and I'm sure the cashier will be made aware of it at the end of the day so he/she will know next time.
