Looking at the coupon, YES it says 'cones', but it also shows in white $______. So really your cashier should have put in the value of the cones. Good for you though looking at the picture - good haul.

Lucky lucky girl...
Did my Walmart shop today, and they only gave me the value of the ice cream, not the full $5.. But hey, atleast I have Heavenly Hash to wash away my sorrows, lol!
Great job on the shopping!

I went to WM this morning to get the cones for .97cents each but they said that the coupons says "up to $5" & would only take the .97cents off so I didn't bother getting them!! & kept my coupons!!!

It does look like cones to me too.. but.. the coupon says up to $5 in value. They should have wrote in $0.97 in the selling price space. If they did that, they will only get $0.97 back from the coupon.. if they wrote $5 in there, that's fraud (by Walmart, not the OP).

I have to admit I am a little confused about the "up to $5 in value". If it is WM policy to ring in at the full amount - aren't they the ones taking the loss? If that is the store policy to get customers to shop there - then what is the problem? I have heard in the US they have double coupon days - I assume the manufacturers do not reimburse those stores for double the value of the coupons!!
Just sayin'

Wow! These stories that I have read on here are truly amazing. I thought that this was only possible in the US, but this gives me hope. Truly inspiring. Even my husband is inspired and that is a big deal to me.

Where can I find this new walmart policy I keep reading about?? I emailed walmart canada last week and asked them for their coupon policy and got a response back stating that they don't have one!

Check out at my Walmart yesterday to see if they would give me max value for my Stouffers Sensation FPC. The cashier circled the max value in the front of the coupon and then inserted the price in the back. She only gave me the price of the product. I would have been very surprised otherwise.

i think you are right! i went to WM on saturday (the same location as the OP), and they gave me a really hard time using my P&G olay coupons because the coupon value was higher than the selling price. i told them it shouldn't be a problem with their new policy, and the manager said they were being more careful because they had been "burned" the previous week. she said any coupon with an "up to" value would no longer be taken at full value, and that they would only take coupons with a higher than selling price value if there was enough stuff in the cart to apply it to (i.e. they won't physically give money back anymore). i was at customer service for over half an hour, and spoke with two different managers - it was a total nightmare! anyway, i enjoyed getting the full value of my FPC's last week, but i don't think it will be happening anymore
