So after reading about everyone's brags recently and how they use different coupons on the same item, ie. L'oreal $2.00, $1.50, $1.00 off on 1 item, thereby getting paid for that item, I was leary if this was a fluke or the real deal.

I called my Walmart in Belleville, ON on 2 separate occasions and asked if I can use more than 1 coupon on 1 item IF it has a different bar code...they both said YES...

HOWEVER...I read this that someone posted from the Walmart Canada Coupon Policy (which I was never able to find on their website but someone must have)

    # of coupons that can be used for each item
    • only one acceptable coupon may be presented for each purchased item within a transaction
    • store managers reserve the right to limit quantities where multiple coupons are being used for multiple purchases of the same item

so...is it hit & miss on whether your Walmart will take more than 1 coupon or am I reading this wrong and it's allowed? I'm new to the terms with coupon'ing so I'm not sure and before I go in on April 28th to do my mega shop (the last day of the flyer...hoping more coupons come in the mail btwn now and then) I want to know so I'm not causing a scene and looking embarrassed at the cash...

    what can you tell me...

Maybe i've been reading the posts wrong, but i thought these people were using high value coupons ie. $2, $3, $5 etc on low priced items, like the trial/travel size items and then getting overages to use on other items???

I bought 12 Olay travel sized lotions.. used 4X$5 off any 2 Olay products (8 tubes) and 4X$2 any 1 Olay item (4 tubes).
Saved $28 in coupons.. items cost $18 = $10 paid to me to use on other items in my basket.

from what I understand walmart will only take one coupon per item. If it is above the sale price they pay you the difference but no I dont believe you can walk in there with 12.00 worth of coupons and pick up a bottle of shampoo and have them pay you 9.00. But if the coupons is more like a 6.00 cp for a 5.00 sale then yes they give you the difference

I think they were most likely a little confused by your question. You can used different coupons on 1 item.....just NOT at the same time.

For example.....if you were buying L'Oreal Paris Hair Expertise for $3.99 you could choose 1 of 4 coupons currently available....all of which have different bar codes:

    $3.99 - $1.50 (tear pad) = $2.49
    $3.99 - $1.50 (insert) = $2.49
    $3.99 - $2.00 (tear pad) = $1.99
    $3.99 - $2.00 (websaver) = $1.99

However, in order to use all 4 coupons at the same time at Walmart you would need to purchase 4 bottles. (I'm not sure what the product actually costs at Walmart, I'm just using $3.99 as an example)

The brags that you are reading about here on SC where people are using multiple coupons at the same time (such as my recent brag) takes place at a store called London Drugs. This store is located in Western Canada only.....they allow you to use multiple different coupons at the same time on 1 item.

So at London Drugs they were having a sale on L'Oreal Paris Hair Expertise for $4.99 each. So I stacked different coupons to get it for free:
    $4.99 - $1.50 (insert) - $1.50 (tear pad) - $2 (tear pad) = FREE

Unfortunately London Drugs is the ONLY store in Canada that allows this kind of "coupon stacking". And given that they are only located in Western Canada, only us West Coasters get to do it. (But for what it's worth.....you folks in Central Canada have WAY cheaper grocery items....so I sometimes pout at the food deals you get )

Really looking for diaper coupons for my DIAPER DONATION COLLECTION!!

Thanks guys. Seems odd that when I called the Walmart on both occasions I said do you stack coupons? Can I use more than 1 coupon on one item and the woman said, I know what stacking is...and yes you can. I guess I'll try it out and see how it goes...

call again and get the name of the person and the position they hold.. then when you get denied... you have who told you that it was allowed.

Belleville is my local WalMart. You cannot use more than 1 coupon per item. You can use a variety of different coupons provided you are purchasing the correct quantity of items and for what the coupon states on it. London Drug is the only store that allows coupon stacking and we don't have one here. I will call there and see what answer I get...

    **EDIT**

Just got off the phone with CS: YOU CANNOT USE MORE THAN 1 coupon per item at their store. There is no limit to the number of coupons you can use in a transaction as long as each coupon has a corrasponding item. The coupon can worth more than the item and the difference is applied to your basket purchase.

technically they only allow 30 coupons per transaction.. and if you go over the CSM will over ride it.. but.. if you a B**ch they have the right to refuse more then 30 from one person in a shopping trip
