YES! My little guy is 18 months now and into EVERYTHING and I have no where but the kitchen table to try and sort and organize my coupons and shopping lists. He is not a sleeper either so any quite time is rare in our house. Everytime I try to get things planned and organized it seems he is grabbing or I am jumping up for some reason for him and then I have to start again lol. DH doesn't get it either. He tells me today he will be home 20 min before I have to pick up the other two from school so I can go shopping quickly before getting them if I want... he's obviously never tried shopping with coupons because 20 minutes is definitely not long enough. Last week I had my whole list planned out and started at 8:30am hoping to get most of it done before my little guy napped by noon. Started in Superstore and as usual he was all arms grabbing at everything he could reach. As I was getting something off the shelf he twisted around in the cart, got ahold of the BIG spaghetti sauce bottle (1.8L) and lifted it over the edge, in front of him and over the handle and .... yup.... PLOP, SPLAT, ERUPTION onto the floor. Spaghetti sauce EVERYWHERE! In his hair, the whole cart was splattered including my binder and everything in the back of the cart. I just about sat down and cried lol. I found someone to clean it up and continued then when I went to check out I reached for the plastic divider for the checkout and sliced two of my fingers on the bar, blood gushing everywhere and on top of that I was refused to stack CZ and manuf. cpns at that particular Superstore so over half of my trip was for nothing. I keep telling DH just give me one day to go and get everything done without kids and that is it, I'll be done. This trying to do it multiply days is costly with gas but he doesn't get it. Anyway I am braving it once again with the little guy in tow lol and hoping I have enough to keep him occupied and happy while I gather my savings lol.

Good luck getting your shopping done this week

PS. I refuse to buy spaghetti sauce ever again while I have DS with me lol.

I've never been around little kids, I wish I had someone to teach me how to change diapers etc. I know it sounds funny, but I've got a couple of years and then I want to start having kids of my own. I'd really like some practice!

I know how you feel! I keep trying to talk my parents into moving out here but my Dad hates cities and change lol. My mom would move out here in a heart beat to be near her grandkids (I'm an only child so mine are all she has.)

Maybe you could find someone who would babysit in exchange for some stuff from your stockpile??

Thanks Redrozez for the heads up on pickles.

Safeway also has Bicks Dill Pickles on for $2 for 5. (The large jars but not the baby dills). I also found $0.75 off coupons with them. It worked out to be $1.75 for the large jars.

My kids have been requesting pickles and I refuse to buy at regular price. Time for me to stock up. I hope my Safeway has the coupons out.
Looking for deals in every place I go.

Hi calgary couponers I need some help. I know this isn't the place to post this but its a one time thing.

I'm making a trip to calgary in june for a wedding. My DH and DD have never been there. I want to show them the sites like heritage park, calgary tower, Devonian Gardens, maybe the zoo, the Corn something mall. I haven't been there in awhile. haha Oh gotta take them to the blackfoot truck stop too. Are there coupons in your entertainment books for any of these? I'm trying to make this trip as cheap as possible so any coupons will really help. If you ahve any TIPS to help me save money on hotels, best gas bar, best restaurant. THAT'd be SO GREAT!

I'm really looking for these coupon from the 2011 entertainment book

I price matched one pack of Easyups to the Superstore price of 14.99 and used a cpn stack at LD. I had no problems at all. Will go there again tonight to do the same thing. Guess I am fortunate to not have little ones any more, but I paid my dues when I had 3 little girls under 5 all those years ago, with no babysitter either.

Perhaps those of you with little ones can try to do the co-op idea, babysit ones children, while the other shops, then swop.

laughed at that... i so remember the stuff my daughter used to do in the store... she used to sing where is thumbkin in the store... but she didn't have the words just right she replaced thumkin with a word i had not said around her that was much easier to say... going thru the store she would sing where is fu#kin and every time a little old lady would come around the corner... of course that was after the phase of her being in the front of the car (six months old) and grabbing the bum of every cute guy in the store... of course i was pushing the cart so by the time i pushed the cart forward a food there i was red faced... don't worry i have been making sure to pay her back often now that she is a teen!!! don't even get me started on some of the stuff my son did laughing at the memories.

These shopping with the kids stories are cracking me up! Reminds me of when my youngest was a newly potty-trained toddler and I had her in the cart at Safeway. She said, "Mommy I have to pee!" one second before she peed all over my fully-laden grocery cart. Ahhhh....the memories.

Now aforementioned kid is turning 12 in a month and is taking the babysitting course. I was wondering what she should charge as her going rate. Are they really making $12/hour these days? That's criminal!!

For those of you wanting deals in and around Calgary, have you thought about the Travel Alberta holiday card? Here are some of the deals you can get, including 2 for 1 passes to the Tyrell Museum in Drumheller.

Here are some that are particularly aimed at the zoo:

And of course, there are a bunch at Calgary Attractions that you can print off:

$12 babysitting sounds like for an older kid. younger ones usually start around $8 (depending on how many kids they look after) till they get some experience.

Good to know - thanks! Even $8/hour sounds steep to me. Then again, I got paid $1.50/hour for my first babysitting job.
