Just curious - did you try the new coupon policy at WM?
I went to Sunrise mall and they had no problem, they knew about it, but at Fairview they had no idea.
I did not fight with them , I let them just take off the equal amount of the product from the coupon. Told them that a new policy is in effect and they should check it.
One of the CS said" I work here for 21 years, I know everything". Politely , I repeted that she should check it, and I got a "NO, THERE IS NO NEW COUPON POLICY,LADY".
That's I think for me the last time I shop at Fairview - they are always against coupons and pretty bad behaviour.

Ladynetz - I had the same experience at Fairview yesterday. CS lasy said " I have been here 15 years, I would know if there was a change". Normally I would just leave it at that but she was so nasty I asked to see the manager instead I got a lady from the Customer Service desk and she was just as rude. I will not be shopping at the Fairview location again. I am sorry you had a bad experience as well but glad I am not the only one.

There's the new policy - here's the link to it, plus other stores.

They have to receive any amount on the coupon. If it's greater than the price of the product, they have to give you cash back or put the balance towards other products you're shopping.
So, I was trying the travel size Olay creams $1.57 each.
Bought 2 and gave the $5 coupon from the last brandsaver.
At Sunrise, it worked, no problem, They transferred the balance toward other purchase.Last edited by ladynetz; Thu, Apr 21st, 2011 at 07:22 PM.

Thanks for the heads up. Never liked Fairview Walmart. I think as they were the first they think they are "special".............they are special alright but not in a good way!

I was at RCSS at Highland Hills this week and encounter yet another coupon redemption issue...long story short I got ticked off so I emailed Loblaws corporation with my complaint. First they would not accept a internet coupon that came from livingwell.ca that was only good at Loblaws stores (even brought the original email with me just in case). You know the story...had to call over another cashier than I got the manager involved who said "go ahead and give it to her". Made me feel like I was trying to get away with something.
I got this response back immediately to which I replied with the store location. Just thought I would share with you. Seems like the standard response from them. Hope she does follow through.
Dear Mrs XXXXX,
Thank you for taking the time to write to us.
Our coupon policy is not currently on our websites, however this is something that we are currently working on having available. All of our stores should be following the same coupon policy and if you would like to share the location that you are referring to, I would be happy to follow up with the store manager on this matter.
Further to your inquiry regarding our corporate coupon policy, we do accept manufacturer and internet coupons however they must have "To The Dealer or Retailer" text on them. They cannot be past expiration and the cashier must follow the exact instructions as laid out by the coupon. The disclaimer “one per purchase” or “one per customer” means only one coupon can be used per transaction regardless of the number of units you are purchasing. If the disclaimer reads “one coupon per item” you would be able to redeem as many coupons as units you are purchasing per transaction. If any of the coupons you are redeeming (whether issued by the retailer or manufacturer) state “cannot be combined with any other offer” than you are not able to redeem a second coupon on that item or transaction.
If I can be of further assistance, please let me know and I will be more than happy to help you.
Sincerely,
Geraldine Kearns

That is too bad Taffy. She states above one per purchase, you can only buy one. I always say I have made 4 purchases with 4 coupons, do you want to ring them in seperatly go ahead. I hope she does follow through with it too. They should give you a gift certificate for your trouble. Darlene

You know you read about this happening all over at every store. I don't think it is asking to much, as a customer, that a store has a policy and sticks to it without the customer having to fight at the checkout all the time. It would be so nice that all cashiers did the same thing according to their store policies.
I am heading to Walmart at Sunrise tomorrow...hope I don't have any problems there with the new policy.

Okay I went to Sunrise and the cashier had no idea of the new coupon policy. She called over another cashier who told her that yes we do accept coupons that are higher in value than the product. She told her it was something new and then the cashier happily put them through....I did not have any arguing or such but it was still a bit annoying that all the cashiers are not versed in the new policy. I asked to speak to the manager but they could not find the manager. I think maybe next time I shop there I will speak to the manager first and bring this to their attention.

I got this response back from Loblaws regarding the RCSS on Higland Road in Kitchener. Been emailing her so much lately we are on a first name basis..lol!!!
Hi Deb,
Thank you so much for letting me know this. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience that we have caused you while shopping with us. Please know that I have taken the opportunity to share your email with Ken Viveiros, store manager so that he may review your concern and our coupon policy with our front end staff.
Kindest regards,
Geraldine Kearns
