Ciel, I think Ellen was referring to the TD First Class Inifinite Visa card, when she said you get more value when redeeming through Expedia than otherwise - not the Aeroplan card.

Found 25K Aeroplan Mile credit card welcome bonus with 50% rebate of first year annual fee on GreedyRates.ca . Best alternative offer i could find was for 15,000 miles no fee first year on other affiliate sites. Which is the better deal?

AMEX.ca made the changes to AMEX Platinum & Business Platinum, increasing welcome bonuses as well as referral bonuses

• AMEX Personal Platinum - $699/year, or 75K MR via referral after $1000 spending in 3 months
• You have an annual personal income of at least $40,000 or more.
  
• AMEX Business Platinum - $399/year, or 75K MR via referral after $5000 spending in 3 months

That totally sucks. I wonder how much of that decision (taken a while ago), was motivated to:

1. Encourage people to use their miles more often
2. Clear their liabilities from their books - which I imagine they have to hold a cash reserve for otherwise
3. Money grab - harvest some cash from the unsuspecting

Quick post today-
the Air Miles Detour coupon booklet has two Sobeys AM coupons that can only be used today until Sunday (three days only). Sobeys Ancaster put its stack of booklets from one side of the community room to the other side (small counter where the Nutrition and Cooking Class info sheets are on display). Just thought to prompt the AM SCers about the coupons in case they are grocery shopping at Sobeys this weekend.

One coupon is 15xAM wus $75 or more at Sobeys.
Second coupon is 10xAM wus $50 or more at Sobeys Urban Fresh.

Really late to join the Air Miles card program but the Cash Rewards option appeals. I can earn my way to a $10 Starbucks eCard-definitely on my list. Given that I go to Rexall, sometimes Metro and usually Sobeys, I can be making some headway on the 95 AM needed.

Sobeys replaced their Club Sobeys program with Air Miles. If it were not for the fact that Rexall has been offering some decent AM bonus point offers and my shopping there has been on the upswing, I might not have applied for AM.
