T&T Supermarket: They *do* accept printed coupons!

I'm not sure how many people here shop at T&T (a large Asian grocery store owned by Loblaws), but if you do this might be news to you!

I wasn't sure if they accepted printed coupons or coupons at all, so I shot them an e-mail. Here is their response:

Dear Janetta,

Thank you for your inquiry.

Sorry for the delayed response, I was awaiting for other department's confirmation to officially get back to you.

Yes, we do accept Internet printed coupons as long as the circumstances of your purchase falls to the specified coupon's policy.
(ie. date, location, quantity, coupon format and etc.)

I personally haven't tried using any coupons there, as I do find that a majority of the cashiers there are limited in English and there's always a huge, ginormous line up. (That might seriously beat me up if my checkout is longer than 3 minutes)... but I guess it's worth a try (at customer service) if there's a super sweet deal?

I am not afraid of their cashiers. They are some of the fastest I've ever seen. Usually, they have my groceries scanned, glassware wrapped, and bagged before I can get my wallet out...

I always find super sweet deals there, with or without coupons, and as a bonus, you can buy T&T cards with your PC points. Someone posted long ago (maybe not on SC?) that they accepted coupons and they even have their own in-store coupons.

But SHHHH...., why are you making the line-ups longer for me??!! Parking is already impossible!

You are totally right, sweet sparrow! They really are lightening fast and super efficient!
Plus their produce is fresh. I'll probably do an update once I do get the chance to use a printed coupon..

But I agree...parking is a nightmare. lol :S

I actually wish Loblaws hadn't got involved. They used to have lower prices. Once, I saw the Loblaws rep come in to inspect the portion sizes and pricing. After that, the prices went up and the portions went down. Booo Loblaws!

I just went last weekend, love shopping at T & T for fresh produce. Good to know they accept coupons. I was looking for Shirataki noodles which I didn't find. Any idea if they sell them and what are the wordings on the package. Thanks a lot.

If it's what I think it is, they sell a few varieties, usually 2/$3, or maybe 2/$2.50. I have to check the cupboards to see what mine are called. You can also check larger Loblaws stores for them too like RCSS.

I think they sell at least three or four different brands of konnyaku noodles. Is that the same as shirataki? The one we bought in the past had "konnyaku noodles" and a band of red, orange, and green on the packaging. The one we currently have is in a light green package and made by Kimura.

I don't remember much English on the packaging, either Chinese, Japanese, or Korean. So good though.... The favourite among my friends is the one with the orange, red, and green on the package.

My family and I eat Konnyaku noodles from time to time, we've been eating them for...decades! I think it's just recently they've become "westernized" and more popular, especially with the low carb/health concious/etc crowd. They're yummy!

From what I know, Konnyaku and Shirataki noodles are the same. They are both made from a plant called Konjac. You can read more about it on Wiki.

Apparently "Konnyaku made in noodle form is called shirataki". These noodles are obviously cheaper at Asian grocery stores.

I have used coupons there before, and I have found some coupons there as well. The cashiers do know English, but to a limited degree. I haven't gotten into any trouble or anything. I find that their prices tend to be quite cheap, but it can be quite expensive if you don't know the price.

For instance, they were selling a dozen of Omega-3 eggs for 2$, and I got 2 dozen of eggs and I also used a 1$ off wub 2 dozen of eggs coupon.

I find this thread when I was searching up on this issue. yesterday I was the new tnt at kennedy/hwy, saw the RK popcorn for $1.99! and they all have the $5 off games coupon inside! the cheapest I seen was WM for $2.77. if I had the $2 off coupon from the pop cases, will they accept it???

Yes, they will.

Funny, but I've rarely have a positive experience with older cashiers, except at T&T. Mine was really impressed that I had a coupon, asked me where it was from, and congratulated me on my savings. I was so surprised and distracted, I actually forgot to use the second coupon that was in my hand (and later had to recycle it when it expired)!

I buy them at Nutters in the refrigerated section, not sure if you have Nutters in the east. Just make sure you rinse them really well before cooking they have a strange odor and they must be rinsed.
