I won't make a huge post about this..hopefully

My sister [inlaw..but we all know she's really my irish sister born to a different family lmao] always gets bladder infections..nothing major think her doctor lays in with all her pregnancies and surgeries, etc etc... So she'd take this natural bladder infection pill from blah blaws [loblaws..sorry long story lol] doctor warned her it could mask an infection and make it look like it was getting better... well she wasn't feeling well since [she claims august] but I wrote it in my journal as may/june so...yaaa.

She went to her doctors constantly...the ER and night clinics and they said it was this or that.. gave her meds.. recently she was sent to a gyno who thought it could be cancer but she was at the hospital last friday and turns out this has ALL [she thought she was having her period since may/june none stop.. so the gyno put her on hormones prior] has been a MASSIVE bladder infection gone into her kidney's and was peeing blood not having her period--apparently all caused by this 'bladder infection' cure pill thing that's natural remedy.

So basically she just wants me to put out a little notice to our fellow smartcanucks..and lurkers alike [she's a total lurker btw ].

She's having at home care.. an IV in her arm and starting antibiotics on tuesday... She's basically going thru a withdrawl type effect.. chills, sweats, nasuea, dizziness, exhaustion, massive heataches.. thought she was going to die..ya..

didn I meant they just bought their first house 2 weeks ago and are only half moved in.. has a 13 months old, 5 and 6 year old... and everyone has a cold over there.. I got up at 4am and went over at 6am [in my dads crane truck lmao..so noisy] and stayed until almost 2pm to look after my nephew until her mother got there to do a 'shift' until my brother got home from work.. so..

Just a cautionary tale.. Who really talks to their doctor before grabbing remedies from a store? If I have a headache sure i'm going to grab some pills...

But yeah.. just be careful!

I also remembered that my mom did something similar when I was child.. we thought she was going to die because it was almost as bad as my sisters....hm... weird.

But how could the remedy be masking the infection? Didn't any of the doctors send her for urine testing? I'm wondering how her bladder infection couldn't be detected until now.

If she was prone to bladder infections, did she know about drinking cranberry juice to help counteract them?

I had my appendix out when I was in my 20's. I had repeated attacks of cystsis due to the infection causing the appendacis. Once that was removed, I've only had 2 attacks in 25 years and both of those were while I was pregnant.

Bladder and kidney infections are deeply unpleasant. I hope she gets better soon.

Wishing your sister well, and yes we should be more careful about what kind of natural ingreidents we are using and not only that but anything we are eating ,holy smokes!!!!!!!!theres alot of bad stuff out there.
