So my little drill sergeant was mad at me today because I told her today was an off day. She didn't understand that it's 2 days on one day off. I got the stink eye from her. :P
When I was pregnant with LO in 2012, I lost 20lbs before I gained 21lbs (so I was +1lb when I went into labour with him). This time I have been even more sick and earlier than I was with him. I am continuing to lose weight without effort because food and I have such a horrible relationship right now. :( I really want to avoid having the doctors suggest anti-nausea medications. I'm making certain that I'm not dehydrated and I am taking my prenatal vitamin in the evening. Good luck to everyone.
let's just say these meds have ( as you know ) have made me ravenous!! ( No food is safe around me )

Mmmmm, thanks Lynn I really DO LOVE soup. ( any kind ) but my soup bowl is occupied with cuteness at the moment, so that is why I am eating bruschetta.

Don't kids just hold us to the highest standards, though? We can't get away with anything. This coming from a Baba who yesterday exasperated her Grandson by not remembering whether "Iceman" could fly or not, Lol! Evidently I didn't do my homework....
Keep up the good work, Patty!
Oh, Walks......we eagerly await your return. A drug that makes your crave bruschetta, eh? Niiiiiiice....
You know I love ya and enjoy teasing you, but in all seriousness, don't dwell on the negatives of that bad drug; instead, believe that it's going to get you healthy once again, and that you'll be back with us, on the wagon again, and ready for the abuse we'll....okay, I'll heap on you, to keep you on the straight and narrow path to a svelte Spring!
Get well soon, my Friend....:sweet:
Lindi even with ALL your teasing I still feel encouraged by your version of a thumbs up :top: and and truthfully I prefer it over what the gastroenterologist does to me with his thumbs!!
:yikes: :hahaha:
:lolsign:
:lolsign:
Yep. That confirms it, Walks. Absolutely, certifiably bonkers!!
Doctor Bellevue! We got a live one here for ya! :-~
Free mini-book from a bogger on Sparkpeople.com on motivation, diets, etc...I receive his emails
thru Sparkpeople and love the site for tracking! And it's all free!
Patty....another article that reinforces the "less is more" rule of exercise...maybe your drill sergeant should read it? :)

My "fitness" challenge today will be to step onto and off of a 2" high board with the leg I broke in May. And it's not going to be easy... Then I will pedal my little mini-bike (a floor model, lol) for 10-15 minutes, then I shall watch both NFL playoff games today! Yes, life is good....
Good Afternoon,
Think my holiday season went pretty well, I was able to keep in control and indulge but not over indulge. Put my jeans on yesterday (I am on Shut Down so I have been living in sweats and not leaving my house) they are still baggy which is good. Got some jeans one size down on Black Friday Sales so I will work these into the rotation when I return to work tomorrow, so happy I work in a casual office where I can wear jeans.
Working out has gone out the window temporarily as my house is under re organization and well we have made a lot of progress my work out space has been turned into temporary storage. Looks like a plan B will be needed as Mom's hours at work have dropped and she will pretty much always be home which means no working out with the WII as it is in the living room, basement is a disaster zone so no working out there so guess I will have to see if I can make room in my bedroom.
The huge issue for me is going to be eating well as I have taken on a training role at work which means most of January and February I will be on the road. We have 5 locations I will be going into and only 2 I can commute too, the other 3 I will be living in a hotel which means eating breakfast and dinner in restaurants and lunch will most likely be something like a peanut butter sandwich or something I can store in the branch to make myself a quick lunch in their kitchenette. I know the set up on 2 of the out of town locations but the third I am going to have to look into and see what they have (microwave, fridge), I know all locations have keriugs so my caffeine is covered. I will have a better idea of how much of a challenge this will be one my schedule comes down from management, kind of hoping to be gone one week, home one week but we will see.
Good Luck everyone, off to get my stuff together to go back to work tomorrow as I brought all my work stuff home for Shut Down.
Oooooo...eating well on the road, ita, not easy to do. But once you get the layout of the lands you'll be visiting, hopefully there are grocery stores nearby for fruits, salads already made up for lunches...and it certainly does depend on the hotels, but most companies set their employees up in pretty fair digs, so you shouldn't have too much trouble there.
You're doing so well, Ashley...I know you'll do well!!! Good luck!
I can't believe how much I have been cooking. I make a pasta salad for my son with 900g macaroni, shredded carrots, 2 cans red kidney beans, 4 peppers, 1 lb edamame, 1 lb peas, onions, shallots and 1 can of corn and I swear the bowl weighs 10 lbs when it's all mixed together. I have made 3 batches of this in the last week and have yet to taste it. lol
I also made a big pot of cauliflower and broccoli soup and some tabouleh. I am soaking some chick peas to make chick pea burgers tomorrow and a vegan lasagna with spinach and tofu stuffing. lol This better last him a few days.
IT NEVER ENDS!!!
So today's exercise was 2 hours of shoveling. I am done :P
Patty I am with you on the shoveling, I did about 30 to 45 minutes and WOW was it hard but that is probably because it was not snow here it was ice I was trying to break up as our walk way was sheer ice. Watched a few neighbours slide along the walk ways and since I leave around 6 am figured it was best to try and break up what I could.
I guess the good news is winter kind of forces us to work out.
We had 15cm then we had 15mm of freezing rain on top so it was crusty on top and then that heavy stuff under it. The snowblower just clogged up all the time and threw out slush. I have a weeping blue juniper in front and the branches are so bent over I was worried they would snap so I held a few up with bunjee cord.
Had a week and a half off for shutdown and back to work tomorrow :( and gained like three pounds during that time.
Starting Thursday .....I need to throw out all sugar from the house....or maybe I will just eat it all Wednesday ...especially the ice cream!!
I really need to loss this 35 lbs!!!
i can't exercise because I have the relaxin hormone going crazy. All my joints are loose and painful and this weight is not helping:( I was hoping breast feeding would help but I have not lost in weeks and I look 5 month preggers:(
So diet it is:(
hope everyone is doing well:)
i have missed you all!!!
Oh, Honey...my kingdom for 3lbs! I'll trade ya! Thing is, being flat on my back for the first 3 months after my fall, then semi-active, to now, 7 months later, I'm up about 20 lbs!!! I was doing so well, but I'm a emotional eater, and believe me, my emotions have gone haywire during this recovery!
Stick to what's been working so beautifully for you, and you'll do brilliantly! Keep your eyes focused on your future...mine is Soring, and how great I felt last year...and you'll get there, my Friend!
I had a bad fibro day yesterday, so I spent the day on the sofa watching my NFL games.....heavenly!!
Today I want to start purging our dressing-room, aka the 3rd bedroom we use for that, so that it's done as part of spring cleaning...post-Christmas purging!
Abby: exercise has VERY little to do with losing weight. As I mentioned, due to various medical problems, I can't do anything more than walk, and when I lost my 50lbs last winter, believe me, I did precious little of that! You are getting enough exercise looking after your little Paige....toning exercises will come later...stick to a healthy weight-loss diet (I used WW on line without joining....everything you need is free by googling) and I guarantee you'll lose the weight by spring!!
If you need help finding your daily points, etc, PM me, no worries...I GUARANTEE it works!
Thanks Lynn49. I think I needmore then 2 hrs sleep...I am eating for energy⚡️
Day 4 is done, no cheating, and relaxing, (if you can call it that!!!) watching the game with a diced apple w/ cinnamon and Sweet'nLow, and a cup of wild berry tea.
I hope you all had a great day, too!
For me...
ancient grain gf oatmeal with almonds and raspberries, green tea and unsweetened cranberry juice, veggies, ginger ale can, Turkey, cheese lettuce sandwitch, handful of cashews, strawberry sundae from Costco, 2 tangerines, 2 slices of watermelon, 15 crackers, 1/4 of an avacodo, 3 cups of tea-black. 10 lg glasses of water. A tbsp of spinach dip, 5 grapes
i have not written down everything I ate for a long time. Maybe I need to do it more often.
i am also breast feeding a very large 2 month old where I am her sole food source:)
Good morning, everyone!
Day 5 here, PB and banana sandwich for a late breakfast, around 10am, 1/2 grapefruit snack...not sure what to have for lunch, but I'm sure not hungry enough to think about it, yet.
I'm feeling my wedding band loosening up again, lol, so something's working.. I can take it off and on again with that one hand...HEY!! Every little thing that encourages us, right? LOL!!
Keep up the great work, everyone!!!
DS drank all my juice so breakfast was Fibre first cereal with banana and almond milk, lunch toast with tomato and lettuce and mashed potatoes. Supper will be homemade broccoli/cauliflower soup and some crackers.
I've been up with a sick doggie....woke my hubby up at 3 am to let her outside, she still wouldn't settle, had some water and is now fast asleep on my lap in the livingroom and I'm finishing my cuppa tea, wide awake, of course.
Time to try to get back to sleep....now I have to wake her up to go back upstairs with me, back into bed....I hope I can fall asleep again!.....
aw, Jenny will recover quickly I hope Lynn. Tummy upset for a cutey pie like her does not sit well with me. Good you could get her to at least settle down though on your lap. Hope ya both caught some extra zzzz's
Morning! Thank you, Walks...we finally got back into bed just after 4:30. A phone call from physio woke me up, and my hubby was up already and I couldn't find her, so I thought he took Jenny with him, but then I felt a shuffle, and found her snuggled under his pillows! She's still in bed sleeping, thank goodness, because that means she's feeling better...I hope. I just want to have lots of coffee.....and breakfast at some point in time. I'll be napping before we go and see the new Hobbitt movie this afternoon...
Stay well, everyone...! Day 6 here....still on track... ;)
Oh let me know what you think of the movie I am thinking of going too.
On a side note should I be upset that while I struggle with every pound my son is eating us out of house and home trying to put on 10 more pounds of muscle. :P
Patty, it was very well done, and if anyone tells you that I flinched when an explosion sent wood fragments flying off the screen, they're outright lying.
My hubby and DD are the Hobbit experts here...I'm the one they have to keep explaining what's happening and in what order they're all happening. But we both thoroughly enjoyed it.
And as for sons who flaunt their svelteness, sashaying around the house while drinking your morning drinks and eating chips, probably leaving crumbs all over the house, expecting you to clean up after him, while a dear, long-suffering Mother is attempting to lose weight is simply rude. I'd remind the ingrate of the months you carried him and the sleepless nights you spent while he demanded your attention.
Upset? I should say SO!
lol!!! Oh Patty I know how that feels ( your DS body transformation being effortless, while you struggle....my boys both have a metabolism I'd sell my soul for......maybe?? ) but I keep reminding myself that once I was also young and svelte as well.
You know if that is not enough to calm you, just stick your ( injured ) foot out the next time he sashays by to trip him.......but make it look accidental. Then play up the injury a bit and have him make dinner.
