Just reading the title doesn't count HG.
You have to read the whole book.

Finally got through Lisa Jewell's Then She Was Gone, ( was not as moved by it as I expected to be, the ending kind of twisted me up ) but I may have been focusing all my energy on planning the dinner menu for the 25th and was reading " just to finish the book ".
I moved swiftly back to Jeannie Gaffigan's brain tumour book ( what a journey of intense pain for her, husband and wife life altering medical choices, and her eventual recovery and survival.
For the usually funny man's ( Jim ) family, this was some serious sh*t!
I've cracked open this daunting hard cover...by Ta-Nehisi Coates ( The Water Dancer ) but only got as far as chapter 4....my eyes keep closing. Happy reading all!

Twisting Fate by Pamela Munster. She's a California oncologist who became a patient after a mammogram showed concerning results. Her book is particularly of interest to anyone with BRCA gene mutations-BRCA-2 in particular does very well in terms of working with treatment.
I recommend the first three chapters to anyone who is waiting 3 weeks for their biopsy report-the information in those chapters explain the standard of care for breast cancer (this is information I wish I had during the waiting period) because I personally did not have too much to ask my doctor when she gave me the news--most of the time I was told to ask the oncologist any questions about care(and you know how that visit in March went-not well and I did not linger to see how many hours it would take until it was my turn to talk to the specialist). I also recommend reading chapter 10, about pancreatic cancer because surgery for that particular cancer is very hard to do then there are the after-effects.
I also recommend that in conjunction with this book, one also watches two documentaries related to health, Heal the Documentary and Game Changers. Might as well get as many options on the table for your health as you can and see what works for you.
Recently, I realized that I seem to react to soy products (my afflicted mammary hurts more and distends more) and caffeinated products are not exactly helpful either (more pain) but my brain wants "self-medication" aka cola pop flowing when the stress or worries mount.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.
