As much as its nice to see couponing getting more validation, I really feel as though these shows can portray couponers in a bad light at times; as impulsive, hoarders, greedy, or excessive. I know this is not always the case but I worry too that although these shows draw attention to current trends it may be causing stores to tighten their policies or create new ones (some more favorable and some not). Mostly though I cant stand getting the 'extreme couponing' comments from people and therefore think I will pass on this special...It kinda aggravates me how they edit these programs, I can honestly say I am not a hoarder, or greedy and majority of us get more then we can use so we can give to friends, family or donate.
Thats my rant for the day anyone else in agreement or am I alone in this boat? lol

Totally Agree!!
I can just see all the people after watching this special that think its so easy to coupon, when in reality it takes alot of time, energy and patients. And alot of learning store coupon policy's and knowing what you can and cannot stack. I hope there isnt a mad rush into LD after this 'special'.

Haha the funny thing is people who have never used a coupon in their lives often think its very simple. Some of my friends have come along and I have given them information but unless you have a vested interest it is so difficult to pick up on it. I just tell them I'll get it for them since it takes way less time and patience, hahaha.

Absolutely agree!!
I hear you on this as well! People want the savings and say they want to learn, but once they realize that you have to be dedicated and put work into it, they say forget it. As with anything in life, if you want to reap the rewards, you need to be willing to put the required effort into it.

Hi Christine, I have to agree with you. As a cashier, I have heard it all from the customers next in line, and other store employees. Some of these comments are just plain mean. Programs such as 'Extreme Couponing' ( American program) although somewhat informative, and always entertaining, also sensationalize the concept and original idea of 'coupon clipping' in the first place! Women started doing ' it ' to make their household budget go further, and companies started sending out coupons to introduce their ' new ' products. Those 'horders' and greedy shoppers need to take it down a notch, or we might lose the privilege of couponing altogether! That would suck!
