Hi all, new to couponing and this forum, hope it's the right place. Was at Walmart yesterday, McKenzie - bought 40 packages of ziploc sandwich bags at 1.48 each, used 20 b2 save 4 coupons, and they actually gave me change!! The young cashier was a bit snooty, but the front end manager was fabulous, she even came over and appoligized to me while my daughter was doing her check out. From there we headed to Superstore and got pedigree dog food, used 1 X3 off coupon and1 X3 off from the coupon zone at the store, the food ended up costing .94 cents.

Well I attempted to get a good haul at walmart yesterday, but ended up having a horrible time and just getting my essentials and leaving. I would really like to know why these stores don't educate their staff on their policies. We shouldnt have to carry around policies. So anyways yes, my teller decided to be very rude an argue with me that i was wrong and i could not use a coupon is the value of the items was less than the coupon value, ultimately giving me an overage. After 5 minutes of explaining to her that she was not right and that walmarts policy states that this is alright to do and waiting for a manager to come to the till, being 7 1/2 months pregnant, rather hormonal and very sore feet I gave up an said just keep the stuff i dont want it. I was so frustrated when I left there. I just think this is so ridiculous, staff should know!

Sorry to hear about your bad experience at walmart Coupon Crazy, even though I am fairly new at hardcore couponing (lol), I have learned one thing....don't be in a hurry, stay calm and ALWAYS carry your store coupon policy with you. I find it is mostly the young ladies with the attitudes. I try and pick a checkout with a teenage male if possible. It seems that nothing bothers them, they hardly even check the coupons over, and are always happy if you save a bundle.

I am not sure in all the people that are new to couponing know, but at Superstore, you are able to stack 2 coupons together. If you have an internet or a manufacturers coupon for a product, and Superstore has the same product in their coupon zone, you are entitled to us both coupons. Some of the cashiers will tell you that is not allowed, but just ask for the manager, as it is the policy for Loblaws Canada. (Again, I go to the young guys, even if I have to wait longer)

Thanks for the tips, an yep it was a young girl as the cashier. I'll try an get a guy next time. Do you find that going to customer service to pay is the easiest or is it best to just go to the regular till?

I have never gone to customer service, not sure if it would help or not, I would just be patient and if the cashier seems confused simply state that perhaps the frontend manager could be of some help

Even though I purchased 40 boxes, I guess I should state that only 10 were for me, and 10 boxes each for 3 of my other daughters. I would never have purchased if I weould have cleared out all the stock. They had a huge shipment, so there were tons left. I am very big on coupon edicate and a strong believer in some for everyone!!!

Great score!
Holly~ there's no need to explain yourself to anyone....again, as I've stated in another Ziploc thread that's going waaaay off topic, this section is for your brags, not a confession booth....you got a good shopping deal for your family and that's all you need to tell yourself!
