Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on these 2 Satellite providers?
Particularly the programming choices & costs.
I still think Bell is cheaper (I've been weighing the pros & cons of each package for a month and I still think that Bell is cheaper for the Better Package from Bell vs. the Digital Fav. from Shaw + I would need to add an extra package for Dh (walking dead on AMC) which is already included in the Bell Better Package.
Thoughts & concerns.
PS I just got a new promo from Shaw and they've increased their digital fav. to now $64.99.This thread is currently associated with: BellLast edited by jasperandchar; Mon, Feb 4th, 2013 at 02:30 PM.

I switched from Bell to Shaw back in May. I found that my Bell bill kept creeping up without my having changed anything. I received an offer in the mail from Shaw and decided to switch. My total bill with Shaw is $82 a month for the same channels that Bell was charging me over $95 a month for and that was with the discount for having bundled my home phone. When I asked Bell to match the offer they said "No". Comparison wise there is not a huge amount of difference. The only difference that matters to me is the price.
I will admit that I hate Bell so take what I say with a grain of salt. Bell is just above Rogers in the worst companies on earth category.

I do not use either of these companies but know of many people who were using bell but have not switched to shaw and love it. Most say they would never look back in most cases they are now getting more from Shaw then they were from Bell for a cheaper price and none have complained of service issues. Also all have told me Shaw has amazing customer service. Sadly I am with Rogers and cannot switch as we are not allowed to put a dish up where I live so we must stick with Rogers Digital but I am pretty sure Rogers is now used to my calls, yelling and ranting, which reminds me I need to call them tonight.

Shaw came and took down the Expressvu dish and replaced it with theirs. I did not have to pay for the installation or the 2 receivers. They are HD receivers(think that might be fairly standard now). Bell was charging me $15 a month to "rent" the HD receiver from them.
Not sure what you mean by "drill for a 2nd dish?"

Shaw takes down the bell dish. You can then make a lawn ornament out of the Bell dish....a bird bath for instance!!

I too have switched from Bell to Shaw over a year ago. As soon as I found out Shaw Satellite was available in our area (Hadn't been for years!) I switched. I have never had any issues with it. The customer service is WAY better than Bell. I call, they call me back. I don't have to waste my time on hold all day long when I have small children to take care of. They're pretty cheap in comparison aswell. I have a ton of channels, and 2 HD Receivers. And I get 1 Free PPV a month for switching to Paperless billing. The installation guy was GREAT! The house we live it was completely gutted a couple of years ago and our landlord forgot to put cable / phone jacks etc so the Shaw guy had to install those aswell... We switched from bell when we moved in, especially after Bell wanted $350 to install the lines (drill a hole!) Gah! I'll NEVER use Bell again.... for ANYTHING!
