I'm trying to think of my own way of helping out charities and I'd like to try to help out the local SPCA. Has anyone had any success with pet food makers in getting FPCs or decent coupons? I know that if I don't ask then I never know...and I will email each company I can think of but I'm just wondering if anyone has gotten anything?

There are many great pet food coupons, and quite a few SC'ers who regularly donate large amounts to the SPCA.
A couple great deals right now are:
Beneful wet meals on sale atCanadian Tire for $1.55 each. With a coupon that came out of a Smart source insert a couple months back, it works out to .30 each.
Also, there are trial sized bags of Purina One on sale at Safeway, Zellers and RCSS (hit or miss, you really have to check each store out) They sell for .25-.99 each, and with the coupon from another SS insert a while back, they are free! AND, in each bag, you will find another coupon for $2.50 off!
Both Beneful, and Purina One coupons expire Dec. 31 2011!
I have a few Purina One coupons I can send your way to get you started if you like
Now that SOF stacks, i`m sure the possibilites will be popping out more and more!

I regularly donate to the SPCA in my area. One thing i learned was that our local SPCA has food provided by a dog and cat food manufacturer, in this case it is Purina. So dont give them coupons, they wont use them. But you can buy the pet food with the coupons and give them that. Also they accept Canadian Tire money! Twice a year, my group collects used towels, sheets, blankets and delivers them to the SPCA. The SPCA is always in need of things like that. Also pet treats, unused pet toys; shampoos, etc.

I called Hills Science Diet from the number on their website and complained that there were no coupons for cats on the Cdn site. There was a coupon for dog food and the one for cats was expired. They mailed me 2 x $5 coupons good on any of their cat food.

The beneful and purina one coupons from the insert with irish spring on it seem like they could be a great opportunity.
Beneful wet meals sometimes go on for $1.25 (which is the value of the coupon), and CanadianBella pointed out that Purina One Canned food runs under $2, and there's a $2.50 coupon, so you could make money with that one at WM and use the overage to buy dry food.
