Loops, your bag is so cute!
I'm a binder girl myself but I don't bring it into the stores with me, I flyer clip and go. With a pretty bag you can afford to be a lot more spontaneous on the savings.
I can relate to your SDM story, I joined SC a few days before the last spend $50 get 20x points event. I had 3 insert flyer's worth of coupons + a couple tear pads. I was $41 oop but I was honestly so happy because I never knew that the total was $50 before coupons were deducted. Still a few weeks later and I would have had enough coupons to probably bring that total down another $10 or so ...
I have to watch myself that I don't end up spaving (spending just to save money, saw that term somewhere else here). It is very addictive to save money and find the deals.Kate

"spaving" I love it!
So important to avoid especially with those Optimum deals.

I am definitely guilty of "spaving"! It's a habit I've had to break, especially with optimum points!! I get a little carried away with it all...
I bring my bag with me everywhere because the ont time I forget it I can guarantee you there will be some awesome deal that I'll miss out on! It's like my purse, I don't leave home without it
What do you have stockpiled right now? I have a ton of Tide laundry detergent that I got with the save $5 wub2 brandsaver coupons. I also have a ton of Underjams!!

Many of us don't want emails for threads we leave comments on or subscribe to (see screenshot below) but occasionally we do. For example you post locally for your city "does anyone know what store the Vector cereal has the boxes with banana coupons on it?" - if someone answers you want to know asap.
Or if you love emails or a daily digest, then this tip if for you.
Note: There are other ways to keep on top of subscribed threads without emails. Remember this tip: SC Tip: How to get email notifications if someone comments on a thread
When you post in a thread you are automatically "subscribed" just by posting. You won't necessarily get an email -- it'll depend on your global settings.
You probably don't want every thread to email you ... you'll be swamped.
Here's how to get an email notice when a thread that you really want to watch such as this one:
Step 1. Look for the Thread Tools link on the upper right burgundy line menu.

Step 2: The default will be: no email notification (most likely) and a folder called Subscriptions (you can add extra folders ... hold on to this idea because it'll be useful down the road when we explain some power user tips)

Step 3: Pick the type of email notification you'd like.

Checking in ... let us know how we're doing.
I like the fact that Tami got the train out the door so quick -- posted quite a bit of background info all at once though.
Did it work okay for you?

Here is my assignment for the trading slideshow:
I did not have a wish or trade list.
Here is a link to a SCer who I though had a nicely laid out one: Anne`s trade list
Some other things that people trade for are SDM points, codes for points programs like Pampers and Huggies, and Canadian Tire money.
I have started on my wish list. I am sure it will grow once I get to know more of what coupons are out there.
Cheers,
Michelle

Yep - we're circling back for finding coupons pt 2. I added the audio track to the show tonight 2x but somehow messed up both (don't ask). I'll try to add audio again tomorrow.
Members of the other groups said they preferred audio rather than just the slides.
Third time lucky, right?

We're moving along great, keep it coming! With that said, I know I post more often than most (well except for Tami!
) so my opinion may not be true for the entire group.
Just read on this site that CP is going ahead with their strike on May 25th.
This is definitely going to put a damper on our train, on other trains I'm waiting for and in trading/receiving coupons in general.
In regards to stockpiles, I think my toothpaste is the largest, I'm up to about to 10 tubes, and I plan to stop at 20 assuming I can buy any more at 50c or less. I think there is a fine line between spaving and creating a stockpile. Buying a lot of one thing when you can get a good deal is spending to save, BUT if it's something you'll use and will last a while without expiring I see no harm.

I have no life katie, I really don't
lol
I'm worried about the strike too but I'm hearing that it might not happen now. I'm really hoping it doesn't, I hate to think what will happen to all the trains, trades, envies, packages, etc. I'm still hoping the trains will make it to their first stops this week!
I think things are moving along great and I love that everyone is so involved- it's nice that we can get to know each other while learning everything we need to know about couponing

Well team, it's been an exciting day! I got the coupon train in the mail yesterday, and it was so much fun! I was surprised how many coupons were there that I had never seen before, because I work pretty hard to collect everything I can - but I guess that's the point of the train! I'm on my way out to the post office right now to send it back to Ontario - looks like freebie fan is next up! Hopefully you'll get it before the strike starts and once it's back in Ontario there shouldn't be any issues.
All aboard! Next stop, Ontario!

Choo Choo!!
BOTH trains have reached the first stop! Awesome! Let's just hope they don't get lost in CP land if they strike next week

OOo yay on the train! Please please no postal strike!
I had such a bonanza with mail this week. I got 12 envelopes from save.ca, websaver.ca and gocoupons.ca. I got a package of coupons my mom clipped for me, my brandsaver sampler, and my $48 order from Old Navy that included 47c pants, 49c camisole and some other shirts and stuff that I (gasp) paid $4-$6 for.Kate
