So happy.
Background: Bell increased internet by $3.00 per month.
So I made the call to say I'm walking.
Today: So New Friend Ryan at Bell, is offering $9.95 for telephone and $29.99 for internet.
This is really going to help with finances.
Woo Hoo!
So happy. This thread is currently associated with: Bell

Thanks.
Was inspired by itsjill's thread about her annual call to her cable company, phone company etc. But didn't have time to bother.
The $3 increase was the last straw.
Would have gone to Teck Savvy or Acanac or even used free internet at the library (cold walk in the winter for this Diva).
So this is really, really good news.Last edited by Shwa Girl; Sat, Feb 16th, 2013 at 05:09 PM.

Ryan was very nice. I didn't yell or anything and I think that made the difference.
Story gets better - I did a sneaky thing - I wanted the Canadian Bell and not the Malaysian Bell. So I pressed "2" for French. It was hilarious - I spoke to him in English and he answered in French. He understood everything and refused to speak English, even after I said, "Wow, you are following me so well. Why not just answer me in English, eh?" He said that he would put me to an anglophone Bell person (said this in French. And I understood it all.)

Told them it was too much and could not do this any more.
Asked them what they could do to make the bill lower.
First lady, Jessica (?) wanted to change my plan. I said No ma'am, no changes, just discounts please.
I said maybe I need to contact Tek Savvy or Acanac. Asked Jessica if she thought this is what I needed to do. Then she connected me with My New Friend RyanLast edited by Shwa Girl; Sat, Feb 16th, 2013 at 05:52 PM.

Yes.
I think that someone said that Tek Savvy is a whole sale company that is linked with Bell and Rogers.
You can check their internet site to see if they service your area.
If so, you can see how much less they are charging, and then ask your provider to match or beat their price.

My parents did the same thing. Not sure if their deal is as good as yours though. They have to call every year to make sure they get a deal, or else Bell will automatically raise their fees.
I had TekSavvy when I lived in London. Loved it. Never had any issues, and they offered unlimited usage for way less than other companies. And I liked that you bought a modem instead of renting one.

O.k. Now realize that we are not that special to Bell. Read on another forum that Bell is selecting certain customers (profile) and offering reductions on home phone and internet, up to fifty per cent off.
Also read that some Bell loyalty employees are not too good. Alls you have to do is call another day and try for a better deal with a nicer loyalty employee -- like My Friend Ryan. So other SCs may be lucky if they call at this time.
