I picked up my May box today, here's what was in it - $20:

    * 5 bananas
    *6 oranges
*2 very large yams (sweet potatoes)
    *5 lbs potatoes
    *1 broccolli
    *1 cauliflower
    *2 green peppers
    *1 cantelope
    *2 lbs onions
    *1 head of lettuce
    *1 turnip
    *1 can of tomatoes
    *1 pkg of coleslaw
    *1 pkg baby carrots
    *4 tomatoes

Everything appears to be really fresh, not bad for $20 bucks

That is a pretty good deal. Pricing out your list, the value from buying at the grocery store would be $30-$35.

I missed out on this month but picked up the pamphlet the other day so have the dates posted on my fridge.

Here is the link for the Saint John Purchasing Club.

    http://www.ahsc.health.nb.ca/CHC/foodpurchasing.shtml

Membership costs $ 5.00 and you have to donate 5 hours of volunteer time each year.

Actually you do not need to pay the $5 or volunteer. There is an abundance of volunteers. The $5 does not have to be paid...not sure why.
