Safeway - Canada Vs US cards and coupons

We don't have a Safeway here, but I plan to shop there in the US on vacation. Are the store cards/discount programs the same? I'm trying to figure out if I sign up on the Canada or US site Also any tips or tricks to getting deals or discounts. We will be in Hawaii so groceries will be $$ in any case. Thanks

Sign up with the US site.I don't know about Safeway in the US but Safeway in Canada is generally expensive.You might try buying food at drugstores like Walgreens,CVS and Riteaid and Walmart.

I don't think it really matters where your card is from because we gave our phone number when we were in Cali and we got our Safeway Club Card prices there too but they looked at us like we were crazy with our area code
