My two year old randomly broke out with a little patch of eczema on her neck. She says it is really itchy, and that it hurts sometimes. I am using hydracordazone (sp?) on it three times a day and its not too much better. Is there something else that I can get over the counter that may help? My oldest never had this problem so I've never dealt with it before..

thanks in advance for the tips!

My daughter has had eczema since she was 5 months old. We bath her in a bath oil called oilatum and only use a soap that is unscented. we use glaxal base on her daily as well. By doing this we very rarely have to use the hydracordazone cream on her.

If you have a Costco membership they usually have glaxal base in the big tubs for around $15. Otherwise SDM sells the small tubes for $9 approximately.

We love the stuff! Great for our kids sensitive skin.

Perfect! I do have a Costco membership card. She always had more sensitive skin but this patch just started to show up on Friday and now it's quite dry.

I remember my in-laws using coconut oil on my nephew's eczema in the past and I believe it worked.

My son had bad eczema on the backs of his arms and legs. I tried everything but nothing worked. A friend of mine introduced me to a company that specializes in all natural products. I started using their lotion and also changed my laundry det, his body wash and shampoo and the eczema was gone in about 2 weeks! Let me know if you would like more info.

We have been struggling with our 6month old's eczema. We are also using the .5% cream. We are already using scent free dye free detergent on all of his stuff. Thanks for the info. I'll have to check back and see what else gets suggested.

Unfortunately even the scent free dye free laundry detergents you buy in the stores are still full of chemicals and other harsh additives. These big companies unfortunately don't have to put these harmful ingredients on their labels so we are at their mercy. Some adults and kids are just more sensitive to the toxins. I found that you need to get rid of all of the irritants in your home to fully get rid of the problems. It's amazing what switching your home over to quality natural products will do for your family. Helps with eczema, asthma, ADHD etc.

Skin Fix Repair Paste is a lifesaver. It heals dry skin and rashes and cuts in a day if you apply it every hour or so. I have wretched eczema and my son has dry arms and it heals them in one application. My nephew has psoriasis and also had extremely dry lips this past winter (he looked awful poor kid, like a clown) and we bugged him every hour to apply the cream and at the end of the day it was gone!! It can be ordered over the counter from SDM and also at Well.ca and they also have their own website

Bronwen does it list the ingredients? My DH gave up on prescription concoctions and finally made his own mixture from Dead Sea Salt and Coconut oil. That worked for him.
