So I been down with the flu and unable to get groceries so I left that up to hubby..... WHAT A MISTAKE...
First I ask him to get me just one certain coupon off the superstore board since I was unable to get any new ones I ask him to stop and get me the highliner one but he says there wasnt any but Im thinking he didnt even look
Second he spent $50 and come home with just 3 bags
$50 would get me atleast double the amount
I sent him to shoppers for bread thats on for $1.99 and he got one loaf OMG I was so mad we go threw a loaf a day and he brings back one..... He says I only have 2 arms lol I told him thats what carts are for....
If I dont get better soon Im going to have to hire all of you to coupon for me...... LOL....This thread is currently associated with: Real Canadian Superstore RCSS, Shoppers Drug Mart

I'm a guy and I'm awesome at finding deals. Maybe the wedding vows should include "Until deals do us part."

I would prefer your DH's shopping habits to mine! Mine used to buy anything that is "new" because he wants to try it. At full price. Then he takes one bite and if he hates it, the whole box goes in the garbage. What a waste.
Whenever he goes by himself, I give him the flyer and circle what he should buy, tell him how many to get, give him any coupons beforehand. He's learned that if he wants to try something, he should wait until it goes on sale. I have been shocked to hear him go to something at the shelf and look at the price and say "it's too expensive right now, I'll wait until it goes on sale." Victory!!!
If he doesn't do the shopping often he will see stuff magically appear and doesn't know how much food you go through. Maybe it is best if you tell him how many of each item to buy?Last edited by torontogal12; Wed, Mar 6th, 2013 at 08:12 AM.

There really weren't any highliner coupons on the board this week. It was a sparse looking coupon zone altogether.

When I'm ill...I'm glad Mr Penguin will step up and do the chores I do...
I'd never, ever try to mock him on one of my boards simply because he failed to live up to my standards..I'd love him more for trying to help me...
Short answer : no Long answer : NOOOOOOOOOOO!

It's so funny how protective husbands are about their money (well, mine anyways) but god forbid if you ask them to price match something for you or use a coupon!

That sucks, I guess I got lucky marrying someone with some Scottish genes. He is always picking up deals, willingly uses coupons, stocks up, etc. I get him to do deal errands all the time.

Mine won't use a coupon either. Money seems to be no object at the grocery store when he's buying our groceries. BUT, when he is buying the groceries for the days he cooks at the fire station he's ever so careful to stick within their budget. I don't get it. I am training my teen though to use coupons and look for the deal before she buys most stuff. Hopefully she'll stick with it when she's out on her own.
