So, my first shopping trip to Macy's was a success! When I first got there I was VERY disappointed, because I was told the suit separates they keep in stock are usually size 16 or lower, even though on the website they went to 24. I'm a size 18, so this was a problem for me. I did end up finding one in an 18, but it was $130 for the jacket and $70 for the skirt....

Well, I was not satisfied with this, and I figured I could get a better deal maybe with some more hunting across their different clothes lines. I was told their plus size section doesn't really have many suits, but I ended up finding a blazer that is a suit jacket style, two skirts and two shirts for a grand total of $58.60 after their sales, the 10% coupon Kate found for me and the 15% from the Macy's club card (free).

Maybe I will upload pictures when I get home, but if I had gotten just the suit jacket and skirt, no shirts it would have cost $200! My receipt says I saved $140.09, so my total for everything I would have bought at full price is $198.69...so I got $200 worth of stuff, plus I got two different skirts and two different tops to mix and match, AND I can go back tomorrow for more if I want because I was expecting to spend AT LEAST $200 just for what I was looking for.

The blazer and skirts are not necessarily the same quality as what I could have bought, but they will serve my purposes and I didn't break the bank. Definitely a successful shop!

Great deals! We went for a day trip to Grand Forks last weekend with our two little guys. I found a few tops for great prices, too!

Our oldest, Mason, almost four, has been a little sad that his brother, Carter, has a store with his name, so we pointed out "Macy's" when we were in the US.

Well, yesterday, I was cleaning out the fridge and had pulled out a plastic shopping bag for garbage. I filled the bag and put it on the counter to throw out. All of a sudden, Mason got very excited. "Mom! Mom! Look! That bag is from Macy's! What did you buy, Mom? What did you buy!" He started reaching for the bag. It made me kind of sad that I had used it for garbage! I had no idea he'd remember the logo.

Awww, that's so cute! Well when you visit again maybe buy a gift card, use it and then let him keep it so he has a momento that's from "his store"

Sorry guys, I'm definitely not a great photographer and they were kind of wrinkled from the trip, but I've uploaded the pictures of what I bought:

    Long flowy skirt: $9.18
    Pleat skirt: $12.32

Love the Blue-wavy shirt and the skirt with the ruffle on the bottom. Super cute.

It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness.

The skirts are actually black, but the lighting of my camera/room made them look blue it seems.
