You can use your ones to buy item's such as $3 off used dvd but they cannot be used with the 30 % off its only one or the other
and remember everything is the store is 30 % off not just used movies
But i am so sad to be leaving .I have a full time job , but have worked at my store for 6 years part time, I loved my store and my neighbourhood.
Our clients are all so sad

Yeah that's sad .. I never really rented at BBV as I thought the rental costs are too high ..but I used to buy some clearance DVD's & previously viewed DVD's ( on sale ) here & there once in a while ..lot of times they were even cheaper than a cost of a rental @ BBV

I have got some good deals on movies @ BBV on Boxing Day ..even better than Future Shop , Best Buy or Wal Mart

Went to my local BB, after I got in line It was completely crazy (doubel the lineup)

Got 4 movies:
Resident Evil Afterlife(9.99), Inception(9.99), Harry Potter Deathly Hallows(16.99), Harry Potter Order of Phoenix(9.99) Total with Tax: $34.76 so not too bad.
I was actually surprised when I went to pay as I thought it was 30% off for the total cost, but its 30% off EACH DVD!
I would suggest going soon, as you may get very limited selection.
Also the newest movies were completely gone or very few left. You wont find Tron anywhere.

Sadly you won't be able to use it. I called earlier today to see if I could, was told it wouldn't be a problem. But the clerk was misinformed unfortunately. The gift card will not work at any of the closing stores.

They even tried to use it to prove to me, it wouldn't work as a form of payment at all. Find a store still open and use it fast because it is uncertain how long those other stores will remain open (that is what the manager of the store I was at told me).

Edit - but what I got was the The Hangover (New Blue-Ray), Predators (new DVD), Predators 2 (new DVD), Drag me to Hell, The A Team, and Tangled for $55 bucks, not too shabby

Just an FYI, I had a gift card that I can no longer use locally (our store is shutting down), so when I went to BBV the next city over, the awesome CS suggested that I buy a Pre-paid mastercard with it!! I turned my $50 gift card that I couldn't use locally (and who wants to drive 30 mins to rent and return a video?!) into a m/c. You might want to do the same.
I am so sorry to see so many people losing their jobs, especially friends here on SC.

Just called one of the stores that are closing and they said if you currently have a gift card you can spend it until their doors close, but they are not issuing anymore gift cards.

Let me clear this up.

I've been repeating this ALLL day at work. I work at one of the non-closing stores.

So the blockbusters that ARE closing are NOT accepting gift cards. Only the ones that ARE NOT closing are still accepting the cupons.
- we are no longer selling any of the passes.
- we are no longer taking trades

And these are the ones that are closing in Vancouver
-All the ones in Surrey
-West Broadway
-Cypress (w. broadway)
-Robson and Codaro
-Oak and 16th (apparently the best one to go to if you want older movies)
-Coquitlam

there's probably more but those are the ones I keep listing off the top of my head.

Please stop calling my store (hastings) asking about deals. We're all gonna tell you we're not closing.
