I have a pretty strict regime of cleaning products to keep itch free. First, I use Sunlight Green Clean on clothes, towels, and anything that touches my skin
As well, I use Aveeno skin relief body wash and Aveeno lotion.
For an itchy scalp, Head and Shoulders makes shampoo and condition for itchy scalp care and it works well.
I find using these products really works. For mosquito bites or need itch relief for any reason, witch hazel works really well.
Hope that helps
(oops - too big of a pic & I still cannot figure out how to delete attachments )

Depends upon the problem - just regular dry skin, or a diagnosed skin condition?
Use creams instead of lotions - they come in tubs. Even store brand can be good, like Life from SDM.
A really, really great cream is Glaxal Base - but it can be pricey. It's cheapest when you can get the big tub.
Talk with your doctor - an option can be going on an antihistamine, so you can get some sleep.

I have psoriasis and use a combination of products. I'm fond of the Polysporin eczema line including body wash and cream. I have also use head and shoulders on my patches once a month, but I also like the Aveeno that BC gal posted.
I second talking to your doctor. It could be something other than just dry skin.

Hmmmm, lots of good answers. When i was pregnant with my first, i developed pregnancy jaundice. But it didnt come out as yellow skin or anything like that. I was itchy, itchy like you wouldnt believe. I would scratch and scratch until my skin would bleed. I would use brushes to scratch, thats how bad it was. One morning i couldnt take it any longer and had hubby rush me to emergency at the Montréal General. There a Young intern checked everything and found i had pregnancy jaundice which caused the itchiness. I was monitored for this itchiness for 4 months of my pregnancy. No lotion, cream etc would help. BUT, specialist in charge of me at the hospital suggested i use Oatmeal Bath. It comes iin a box at the pharmacy, thats right ground up oatmeal. Thats the only way i can describe it. You you make a facecloth pouch and put in the oatmeal bath Inside and put in your bathwater and let it set. Then when it was mush, you rub this on your skin and it really does relieve the itchiness. Now oatmeal bath is a bit pricey so after a while i used regular oatmeal and did the same. I even carried this oatmeal pouch with me in a ziploc baggie in case i got very itchy and was far from home. It did relieve the itch but i couldnt wait to take a clean bath without oatmeal. This condition disappeared as soon as my daughter was born.
This this oatmeal bath, it just might work. It did for me. It didnt make the condition go away, but it relieved the itchiness for a bit.

It's a combination of dry skin coupled with renal insufficiency. I did talk to my Nephrologist about it, and tried the Eucerin skin paste that she recommended without success. Last night I tried Life brand medicated body powder and got a decent night of rest.
Really appreciate the suggestions everyone!

Are you having stretch marks? Because this also causes itchy skin. Just massage this itchy skin or scars full skin with cellublue. Massaging will help you to reduce the itching and these marks too. Cellublue is the small suction cup which helps to get rid of cellulite by reducing the fats of fat cells. It is one of the best soins cellulite. This can be used on any type of cellulite and is hypoallergic too. Your itchy skin will soon be a smooth and soft skin within few weeks after using cellublue. try this you will get the effective results soon.

Gold Bond Restoring is one I really like. It exfoliates the skin a little, and soothes it as well. I have an itchy dry patch on my leg, and it usually calms it down.
It is the newer Gold Bonds that are found with regular lotions (lubriderm, Jergens, etc) There are 3 varieties, and I use the Restoring one, it was recomended as a good body lotion.
It is pricy, about 11-13 bucks, sometimes on sale for $8.99 here and there, and Smartsource usually has $3 coupons
Most creams and lotions, no matter how thick and creamy they look are just glorified thickened oils. They don't do much more than just slick up your skin. They have their place, of course, but it sounds like you need something a little extra.
I have found Eucarin with Urea to be quite nice as well, it is pricy but sometimes on sale (not often)Last edited by anisa; Tue, Aug 11th, 2015 at 02:16 PM.

I developed itchiness from various products and now I am down to the following that works:
- Unscented Tide with vinegar in the rinse (makes clothes soft) and wool dryer balls.
- Dove unscented soap and Aveeno body lotion unscented.
- Unfragranced shampoo and conditioner.
I found eliminating fragrance in my products made a world of difference. I also take allergy pills every night and this has helped me sleep.
