Thread: Where to get Coupons

Hey All -
Was hoping I could get some help! I'm an American (still residing in the states, I wont be moving to Canada until next year) dating a wonderfully amazing Canadian man...
Anyhow - I coupon out here in the states and my BF is now expressing an interest, and I need to learn how for when I make the big move
Are there any Sunday papers or flyers that are routinely circulated offering coupons (Toronto Area)? I'm attempting to learn the system and teach it to him and myself.
Curious if stores are offering their own store coupons so you can stack, where you get your coupons, any and all help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks in advance

There are coupons in the newspaper on some weekends in Canada. Here is the schedule. It's not nearly every weekend like it is in the States, though.
Some stores offer their own coupons and some SC'ers have luck matching those with a manufacturer coupon, but I have never had any luck with this.
Coupons can be found on store shelves, can come with magazines, can be ordered from web sites and mailed right to your home (save.ca, gocoupons.ca, brandsaver.ca, websaver.ca. There are lots of companies that offer printable coupons, or have occasional offers where you can sign up and have coupons mailed to you (sometimes coupons for free products). Contacting a brand you like with compliments sometimes results in getting some coupons. I am sure I am forgetting some ways, but store shelves, those four web sites and newspaper inserts are the main ways I get coupons. Plus I always watch the Coupon section for new coupon postings
Another way of getting coupons here on SC is trading. Say you have a bunch of pet coupons you don't need but someone has the food coupons you do want, and needs those pet coupons. You each mail the other the coupons they can use, and in exchange you get coupons you can use. I love trading because I get a lot of coupons I have no use for, and I can turn them into coupons I can use

Note that it's the Saturday paper not the Sunday paper that will carry the flyers. My American husband was surprised by this! In the GTA, you will find lots of papers that carry the Smart Source and Red Plum as well as P&G. There are also a lot of the freebie local papers that have it, or they get tossed in with the flyer stacks.
Very limited stacking opportunities (sometimes you can do with the Loblaw family of stores but read the wording on their store coupons) and virtually no doubling anywhere, but I've started to collect coupons for an American shop and I find our coupons are often worth more $.
PS - there has been a rash of folks like myself who are going to try some cross border shopping, so you might be able to trade packets of US coupons for CAD coupons.Last edited by katie333; Thu, Jun 2nd, 2011 at 09:51 PM.
