I didn't want to give my son sugar or juice, but then he tried it, and now he loves it. Everyday it's "can I have a chocolate?" and I say not until you eat your dinner. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But when asked he will often choose an apple or orange over something like chips or chocolate. He was a BIG milk drinker, bottles over night, we'd go through 1 1/2 4 L bags in a week at least... now, none. I have bought 1 liter of milk since he gave up the bottles (about 6 weeks ago I think) and we never finished it. He drinks it at daycare because they serve it, but I don't like it so I can't force the issue at home, and he eats yogurt, cheese and ice cream. I'd be happier with no dairy but I love my creamy coffee, and figure cream is better for me than coffee mate, though not positive on that. I'd like to try something I read about but it sounds a bit gross so not sure it would work... using coconut oil & butter in coffee. Yeah I know... I finally got some unsalted butter to try it with (apparently the salted stuff is rather icky lol) but haven't worked up the nerve to try yet. Maybe this weekend, so I have time to have a normal coffee if it doesn't work out

Taking little Joshua to the vet for his check up today, he needs to get that little snip snip surgery so he needs his last shots first. I really wish vets were not so expensive.
i say go with whatever works for you! DD didn't really get into sweets/chocolate until 2 Christmases ago when someone left a box of chocolates on the coffee table lol! I used to half half her juice with water but now that we are the go a lot more i just give her juice boxes - no sugar added ones only. We have a rule no more than 1 juice box a day, that being said she probably only has 1 one or 2 times a week! She LOVES water! She has whole milk with a couple drops of Nesquick (she won't drink white milk) once or twice a day. I gave her organic milk between 1 & 2. She has a sweet tooth but then so does hubby & I, and I am not giving up my sweets lol. I don't give her hard candies (except the Splenda lollipops) or Gummies candies (she does have Gummies vitamins though). Funny story, last Halloween we were trick or treating with friends & at this one house the lady said 'chocolate bar or granola bar?' Everyone said 'chocolate bars' except for DD who yelled 'GRANOLA BAR!' Lol & she insisted on eating it right away!

Mine too, my heart is breaking for your losss I am so sorry.

    Home decor or Candles?

I think I answered this - love candles - and anything home decor....

    Something bigger?

hmmmmm, that is a hard one - I don't want your postage to be outrageous!

    Personalized stuff

Love mailing labels, we don't have any MacKenzie Family or Scott and Suzanne - all in my name lol

    Zodiac?

    Sagitarius here!

Please expand on this - I am interested!!!

YES YES YES!!!! I love honey, creamed honey and peanut butter sandwiches are my downfall.....

I am becoming much more interested in this... I am not a big veggie eater but I think I might be able to do this.... any good web sites or books to educate me more? What is a good juicer?

Not much new here.... caught up on MOn. and Tues. Coronation Street.... Pipe band was good last night - they are preparing for the parade season now and they have a big D Day concert they are doing on June 6th. One of their numbers they want to jazz up with glow in the dark drum sticks - which exsist... but my oldest dd plays the big bass drum and uses mallets and we are racking our brains on how to 'glow in the dark-ify' them. Has anyone used glow in the dark spray paint? Does it need black light to work? Is there suck a thing as glow in the dark fabric? I was wondering if I could make covers for them?
here is a pic of the some of the band, she is the one with the leopard skin on, she is holding the mallets...

also you sock knitters - anyone know how to knit a sock like they are wearing? We are desperate for new socks.
Oh and while I am looking for help - can anyone help me make us a non profit organization so we can apply for more grants?

We have seasons tickets to TFC (toronto football club) and DH cheers HARD for Newcastle FC (English Premier League soccer). Of course we also cheer on team Canada at all opportunities!
i used to eat those all the time! Now I'm craving them, except I can't eat peanuts anymore.......

You guys stick to your guns with what you feed your kids! My boys don't get milk and people NEVER stop giving me a hard time about it. DS1's first grade teacher tried to get him to sign up for the school milk program behind my back. He told her point blank that he didn't want cow boobie milk. LMAO
Haha. Juat say no to the cow boob. I don't give ds cows milk either, never have. I. Read an article once about growth hormones in milk which is a contibuting factor in kida hitting puberty so fast, not to mention the large amount of salt that help the milk to stay stay on the shelf for much longer than normal. I discussed it with my doctor (hr delivered me as a baby so i truat hia opinion) and he backed me up completely. He told me almond milk would be healthier for him than soy too. So hes been drinking almond milk since he was about 14 months. I just tell most people he is allergic to milk. My family knows my reasons for not giving it though and support it. Once my mom tried giving him regular milk, he had a sip knew it was not his almond milk and threw the cup at her. Bahaha.

I'm not happy. The forecast is calling for 20 cm of snow Friday!! Come on mother nature, it's April. Give me a break!! I'm going to have to move to Arizona when I retire, I'll never survive winters like this.

I am trying to give up dairy and wheat but it's hard, we like our cheese I was vegan for a long time but when I got pregnant all I wanted was meat, and I haven't looked back. My son asks for juice, but he usually only gets it on the weekend. When we were at my parent's for Easter he woke my mom up asking for apple juice. I think he was actually still asleep but she couldn't figure out how to get him back to sleep so she got him up and he had a drink and pee. Silly mom, silly kid!

My second organics delivery box comes today, I'm looking forward to it but not the radishes that are in there... I figured I'd take them this time and see if Jackson likes them (he loves peppers which I can't eat so I thought we'd try these too, just to see). If he hates them I'll just put that we don't want them ever, I like that I can do that with stuff. I took eggplant off the list blech.

When i talj to my mom about it she always says the same thing. She also says though that 20yrs ago things were different. And people didnt sweat over the small stuff. Wwe were super large kids, she had given us whatever she wanted . When i was 2 years old my top front 6 teeth had to be sugically removed because they had rotted out, she had given me apple juice in my bottl to put mw to sleep at night. That though ah blames on her having me at 16 and not being educated enough in how to care for me. Lol.

Oh, and I wear jammy pants around the house, but not to sleep in. Get home, change into comfy clothes (including taking the stupid underwire off and putting on a comfy sportsbra or ahh bra). In summer I wear capri length pj pants instead of the long ones in winter
