They change the flag daily. When I visited Ottawa last summer I was told there was only a 12 year waiting list.

I received a written letter stating that I am on the waiting list. It is currently around 11 years for a Canadian flag. This would be an honour to give to my son. I don't mind the wait. I will just have to remember to update them with any address changes.
