I let Shoppers know about my horrible customer service once and they credited me 8000 Optimum points!

i wouldn't let this go if your having a hard time now what happens next time you go in there. I would make a stink phone HO you have been a loyal customer to them and they are not being fair. Yes big deal it say 1 per person but not 1 person per day. That's just my opion , don't let this discourage you from couponing.

I was intending on using 2 coupons today at my SDM. I hope they don't refuse.... we will see!

Personally I would get on to the Head Office and kick up a stink. I like to use the phrase 'amateurish imcomptence' somewhere in my compaint!

    Good luck

Next time just price match with Walmart if you can. They take printed coupons and Iv;e never had a proble. SDM sucks. Their cashiers are NOT train properly.
    Thanks

Thanks Margy, I see what you're saying about cashier profiling. This local Shopper's seems to have only a small handful of employees total working - it's always the same ones. I don't have much choice in profiling on this one. I'm now interested in resolving these issues on a grander scale so you and I don't have to cashier profile at Shoppers again. Because technically, their behaviour, policy and training should be so uniform that profiling shouldn't exist in the first place.

I went on the facebook site yesterday (before I went it to complain) and was unable to print the coupon policy from that site...Can't figure out why...Thanks to RedSonia for the link to another site with the policy. Strange that Shopper's doesn't have the policy listed on its official site. But mind you, when the Supervisor never even bothered looking at my coupon when I went it to complain - I doubt she would have looked at the coupon policy. Can you imagine, if you bought milk with mold in it and you returned to a store to complain, would they not ask to look at moldy milk? I can't believe these employees are so dismissive that they don't even look at the source of the complaint before they dismiss me.

I would love nothing more than to start heading to Wal-Mart but the closest one is an hour away I hear rumors they are opening one very close to me soon, so I'm excited about that.

I think this whole "per customer" wording needs to be clarified for the cashiers & for everyone. "Per person" on its own should mean per person per puchase/transaction, not "per person per day" or "per person per lifetime" or "per person per store". So once I pay and exit the store and re-enter, stand & line & pay again the coupon should be valid. And if it is valid, then they are just being illogical by not accepting all 4 at once when they know I will come back every 5 minutes to repurchase more. Not only that, but if I did it this way, I would end up with a lot more than 4 and it would be a lot more work for the cashiers. I wonder if a written clarification from the manufacturers on the wording of their coupon would finally put an end to all this for good for everyone. I will give also give that a go.

My first couponing experience and already I'm trying to be a couponing advocate & start a couponing revolution! haha

Heading to Shoppers in a bit to see the Manager. Wish me luck

That sucks! I bought two with no hassles, and it was one for me and one for my mom who can't always get out to the store..... I find its hit and miss with the cashiers, I had trouble with the Listerine coupons... same thing only let me buy one but another time I went and bought 3 no problem and at the same Shoppers! I am lucky I have 3 in my area, so if one starts to give me a hard time I will make another one my regular store! In fact maybe I should complain about that experience to the manager!

Cashier looks really annoyed and reads the coupons over 20 times. Then she says "it can't be combined with any other offer". So I say "any other offer" means "any other coupon". Then she says "it says 1 coupon per person per purchase". So I say "per purchase is not the same as per transaction, per purchase means per item". She says "yeah but it says 1 per PERSON per purchase". She asks the supervisor, who says only 1 coupon per person. So they allow me to only buy 1 pack of Motrin with 1 coupon. Am I missing something here? Coupon doesn't say per person PER DAY, it just says per person per purchase.

So i talk to the Assistant Manager. She says the same thing - only 1 per person total. She says "plus this is photocopied". I say "it's not photocopied, it's printed & it's legitimate & your coupon policy says you accept printed coupons". She says "yes, but some people ABUSE these coupons & don't leave anything for others - these coupons are not meant to be used this way. I'll look into it". I say that the sale ends today tough & she doesn't seem to care.

Wow, my first coupon attempt experience ever and now I'm wondering whether couponing is even worth the hassle & humiliation that it brings.... Not to mention, I'm an everyday regular shopper at this Shoppers & the cashier knew me very well...

Can someone please tell me whether I was wrong? And if not, what can I do to shaft these people who wrongfully embarassed me?

IHAVE USED THE SAME COUPONS AT WALMART WITH NO PROBLEM AT ALL.i HAVE USED 4 AT A TIME AND NEVER HAD ANYTHING SAID. mAYBE TRY WALMART. SOME CASHIERS ARE ALL FOR WHAT WE ARE DOING AND SOME THINK WE ARE GREEDY. MAYBE ITS JEALOUSY BECAUSE THEY CANT BE BOTHERED TO DO WHAT WE DO!

You cant pay $40 in pennies. They can refuse you. There is actually a law that states this. You could be charged with disorderly conduct.

I would call Head Office about this too - it's in their coupon policy - and it seems some employees decide when they see fit, to alter the company policy.

I would call HO and see where you can get... That is not cool.

I've been couponing for about 6 weeks now in the Stouffville area and have yet to have a problem... I've actually found that cashiers are impressed with my couponing and can't believe how much money I can save with couponing and waiting for sales.

Don't let it discourage you - keep on couponing

I know exactly how you feel.. I don't like using the printed coupons for that reason. I will use them tho if it's a really good deal like the motrin & hope for the best.

    No matter what store,
if there's a young guy working, I'll wait a hour in his line up just to get his awesome "I don't give a sh!t what you pay with lady attitude" LOVE IT!

Unfortunately, you will learn what stores to go to, and which not to; which cashiers to go to, and not. I admit, I tend to look for younger males because they are easy going and don't seem to care about nitty picky details as long as the coupon is valid (sorry, don't mean to offend anyone by that, just my personal experience) My WalMart just became a superstore one, so they hired a ton more cashiers, so I have lots more learning to do now, lol.
