I usually have that problem with most stores that offer spend XX get ZZ. I never spend the amount I would need to spend and most of the time I cannot justify spending extra just to the points.

I know sometimes coupons can be used on items that give points, but make sure you read the wording on each deal as they do differ.

Also got 1,000 wub no name cat litter and 200 for every $1 on ground beef... I don't eat meat so thy ones pointless. The ones in the picture are things I frequently buy so I see a stock up this weekend!!!
