Walmart Quarry Edge Brampton - IS THE WORST! (Oral B and Crest )

Ok i have had time to just relax and think about this rant that i want to post so here it goes.

This evening i went to the Walmart location mentioned in the title as it is the closest to my house to use my coupons against the Oral B toothbrush and Crest Toothpaste advertised for $0.97 in the local flyer.

First off there was LITTLE/NO stock! I asked the attendant in that section
and she said they didn't have it out yet because the flyer only came out today :confused7:
Ummmm, i thought they were supposed to have it ready for the flyer date?????

Wanna know what i found????
1 stinking toothbrush not even on the shelf!!!It was on a wall far away from the Toothbrush section.
So i took it with me cuz at that point it was like finding a gold coin. :wink2:
I scanned it and it went in at $0.97 so i thought perfect!
Took my coupon out and went about looking for the crest.

No stock in the toothpaste aisle. Wanna know where i found it??????
There were 10 frikin packages sitting nice and pretty on a shelf behind
the deodorant aisle opposite the hair care section!!!!!
So i ONLY took 5 as i know those idiots will tell me the limit is 6.

i then proceeded to the Express checkout with my frikin 1 toothbrush,
5 toothpaste and a pack of instant mr noodle.
i was second in line when i noticed a familiar face staring me down.
A while ago i posted in the bragging section about a certain cashier who
totally embarrassed me when i attempted to used some green works coupons.
Yup, that same idiot stared me down, i saw her go over to another cashier and
whisper something, then went back to her register.

Well finally it was my turn and i did not get the phys-co cashier neither his whisper friend.
So as put my stuff up i tell the cashier i have coupons.
All goes smoothly till she rings in the Oral B and then hands me back the coupon.:confused7:
i ask her why she was giving me it back, and she said that i can only use
the coupon towards a Manual toothbrush. WTF!!!

I asked her what do you call the toothbrush i got, to which she just said,
i could only get the one from the picture on the flyer (oh change of story now:nono1:)
Although i wanted to punch her in the face, i simply said ok and to take it off my bill i don't want it.

i looked up and phys-co and her whisper friend are both staring at me,
mind you they are at completely different registers two rows down from my cashier.

So i ended up paying $1.73 for 5 crest and 1 mr noodle @ $0.25.
I paid tax, not sure if i had to or not, i just wanted to get away from them.
After i paid i took my bag and said thank you and the f-in cashier didnt' even reply!!!!
Not sure who pissed in her coffee. I gave no hassle besides asking her to take the
toothbrush off my receipt so i guess that upset her.
i wanted to repeat my thank you but i just walked away instead.

Honestly, i am fed up with this location. Every time i try to use a coupon,
I always get this, that or the other kinda hassle.
I'd rather pay a little more money or do my couponing at Fortinos for instance lol
So i may be boycotting this location.

Sounds like you had a heck of a night! :-( Sorry that it had to be like that. Luckily Ive never had a bad experience at my usual WM. But I have had bad ones at the WM near my work, so I just avoid it. Blaaaahhhh!

I think you over paid... 5 crest @0.97 with 5 $1 off coupons would be 50 cents... Plus 25 cent mr noodle... Shouldn't it be 75 cents not $1.73?? Maybe I'm wrong. Did you get charged for the toothbrush?

Correct me if I'm wrong, is that the Walmart location at Bovaird and Main/Hurontario?
I was just there today too, around 5:45/6. I didn't find a single toothbrush, nor any sale tags indicating there were any 0.97 Oral B toothbrushes there. BUT I did find the 0.97 Crest toothpaste in that wonky spot as well. (I never know if that's clearance items or just a stupid shelf with mismatch stuff... its SO disorganized, anyways to my luck its never clearance)

Also, with my experience I never go to the express with coupons. I had some other coupons today for Free pudding from Dr. Okter, and coupons for the Krave chocolate cereal :eek1: so I had over 15 items anyways. I did manage to get a sweet lady as my cashier, but she was a bit slow and I did feel like we were holding up the line a bit too long.


Finally, is it just me or does that Walmart never have ANY clearance sections... in any good department!?

I cannot stress enough when you have BAD service send an email to Walmart.ca home office....these behaviors must stop and until we start sticking up for ourselves it will continue.

@ matchstix, i am now very pissed, kinda my fault too.
You are right, i did "overpay" but looking at my receipt, i just realised that
the f-in cashier only used 4 out of my 5 coupons that i gave her!!!
i just chalked the charges to it being taxes.

@ Paciad, Yup that's the one.
That Low Prices shelf hardly ever has any prices attached to the items there,
and it does look like a bunch of mismatched stuff.

I checked the regular registers but there were only about 3 opened and the line up there were pretty
long and i was pressed for time.

Lastly, yup they NEVER have clearance, even if they do have a clearance sticker it seems like almost regular price to me.
i hate hate hate that location.

Ps - I was there around the same time too :-)

i'm not crazy so i know what a Manual tooth brush means.....duh there are battery/charger operated brushes and then there are the ones i have to use without assistance besides my hands lol.

So when the cashier gives me b/s about i can only get the one in the picture, how do i defend that????

I had a freak experience at No Frills Thursday. Was getting a bunch if Sunlight (I buy it 4-6 bottles at a time so I don't kill my stroller etc). Had 6 $2 sunlight, some Silani coupons, a Ziploc and a screaming teething baby with a cold). Cashier was totally not phased by the coupons and really nice so I didn't really pay attn to what she was doing. As I was loading my stuff to leave, she printed out a duplicate receipt, said "I think I misses a coupon, I'm going to double check" and so she did. She hsd missed a $2 Sunlight so she friggin put it through her cash and gave me a twoonie from her cash. No muss no fuss. I rkls her about the experiences I'd been having at Walmart lately and she said she couldn't believe it since they're the ones that have primarily been driving the support for coupon use. (Mind you I've had 2 fantastic cashiers lately at Walmart but it's a rarity!) Anyway my jaw dropped that she offered to double check and made it so easy to get my $2!

That Walmart sucks...The cashiers act as if they own the stores.I had a rant this wk too about my Couponning/PM experience @ this same store..I'll go to the new store @ Williams Parkway/Mississauga Rd....just to get away from the bad service...Lets hope they have stuff in the store as it tends to have empty shelves.

BTW the cashiers(some of them) aren't too bright. They do have difficulties interpreting/understanding the jargon on them....SMH

My DH has connections there & told me they keep stock in back so customers won't get much till sale is almost finished.

I plan on going to the Williams Parkway/Mississauga Rd Walmart today too.
The shelves are pretty empty there even in the grocery section, but I'd rather not stress out

definitely, you should call HQ. I always get results when I have to call, managers do not like to be called by HQ! How to handle the coupon for toothbrush, I believe it says ANY manual toothbrush.

When I worked at Walmart I was friends with someone in the Health & beauty section and she said they do keep the stock in the back when they know other places have it on sale or coupons. They lose money when they price match and it can take up to 4 to 6 months to get reimbursed for the coupons they have and they would rather have cash in hand to pay off suppliers, pay cheques etc. Cash is liquid you can do things with cash coupons are a liability because you don't get the money until later and you don't earn interest on the money. And now with fraudulent coupons that are out there companies don't know if they will get there money back. (taking business and accounting - learning about this now)

yeah,i had bad experience at this location in the past,i wanted to exchange one item and that was the olay cleanser,the cashier was very rude she said people price match and the they use coupons and then they return the product for full price...i was shocked why she was telling me this type of stories am i look that kind of person to you...i dont wanted the refund or store credit.i just wanted to exchange it because my husband pick up the oily skin one and i have dry skin.but it was impossible there so that cashier gave me so much attitude and then finally she exchanged it.i never went to that location again.

these sales are determined months and months ago so when they ordered the items from the manufacture they were available. then for what ever reason the manufacture didn't deliver and since other stores like Loblaws, Sobeys etc order the same product and had sales they couldn't keep up. Its a supply and demand - low supply and high demand. Its just not Walmarts fault its the manufacture and other stores who had or will have similar sales. When stores make the orders they go back to previous sales & previous inventory - probably last time this was on sale they had low amount of sales so they order less.
The only reason people can't find the product is because there are coupons out there and if there were no coupons there would be lots of product. And since the coupon people are buying a crazy amount which leaves little for others. According to my marketing class one has to lay blame on the manufacture for not making enough or promising this product to many places and you have to blame fellow couponers in your area for either taking too many or being a bad couponer & making Walmart have limits and restrictions etc.
One can not just blame Walmart there are so many contributing factors that I mentioned for why the Walmart in your area is that way because not all Walmarts are like that. People are complaining that a certain Walmart in one's area is bad but for Walmart to be bad there are reasons -bad couponers that made them dislikes couponers, shelf clearer, theft, fraudulent and the list goes on & on.
Coupons may save the consumer money but coupons for the store cause nothing but trouble in the sense of accounting and business.
(sorry about the babble - all week is business class & accounting we talked about this and seen examples how some stores lose more money with coupons then get money)

But...... i am questioning the fact that they advertised the crest and oral b in the flyer, and when I got there the day the flyer started, there was no sign up at least explaining anything in that particular section. Which would have probably been better than me going into the store and playing an easter egg hunt except with toothbrush and toothpaste. It was ridiculous.

Then the cashier can scrutinize the coupon all they want but if the words are written a certain way, and I and everyone else knows what it means, and the cashier pulls a smart one for example I can only get the one in the picture even when the coupon state ANY of that product, then what am I to do?

I still think this location is the worst regardless, I have had too many issues using coupons even when they've had lots of stock.

Because flyers are nation wide sometimes and Ontario wise depending on the flyer. They can't say the product won't be available in certain stores because the flyer is made in advance and at the time the manufacture probably said they had enough. If there was no coupon to make it free people would never know that Walmart didn't get the shipment but because its free plus overage everyone knows and people complain. If the coupon said .50 cent off or had some weird wording there would be enough on the shelves because its not a good deal.
Stores that don't like coupons probably have there reason and until couponing calms down, less shelf clearing, less hoarding etc then stores will keep rejecting coupons. After taking my classes I now understand why stores hate coupons and all the accounting part to coupons that stores must hate

Anastasia, I too understand all factors re Couponning that spark a red (shelf clearing,fraud ,theft etc) but the average shopper won't be happy if a cpn states it can be applied to'ANY' particular product but cashier thinks otherwise....and in my case,the cashier telling me I I'm holding up the line...Not sure how else I could have proceeded to speed things up.She was an older lady & her manual mobility was not the greatest. If she has to call the supv to interpret each cpn on top of going slow, how is that my fault?I wasn't the one operating the register. I was organized & always get compliments from cashiers about this.
