So, this was definately not my best shop but it was an experience non the less and I thought it important to share.

Today I had to pick up some prescription for my Grandma at Save-on Foods Station Square so I decided to try out stacking. I figured it has been weeks since the new policy came out so it would hopefully be relatively pain free. Wrong so Wrong.

    Here's what I got for $10.96:
3 boxes of 15 Ziploc Freezer Bags
2 boxes of 50 Ziploc Sandwich Bags
1 individual service skinny cow ice cream
2 bottle of Paul Newman Salad Dressing

    plus
several coupons for Bick Pickles 0.75 off
several coupons for Paul Newman pasta sauce 1.00 off.

I put back 2 trial size Dove (one shampoo and one condition) on Sale for 1.49 each. Story to follow.

The salad dress was on 2 for 4.00 so I used 2 1.00 off coupons making them 1.00 each (not bad considering they are usually over 3.00), the coupon for the ice cream was not a problem...the problem began with the Dove.

I had 2 different Buy 2/Save 2.00 coupons and wanted to use both...was told by the cashier that they only allow one coupon per item and I couldn't use both unless I had 4. I politely informed the cashier that according to the new policy, they did allow stacking. He disagreed with me for a while but I held firm. He finally went to ask at customer service and came back and told me no again. I asked to speak to customer service who came over and told me no again. At this point my kids were getting antsy but I had a point to make . When I would not back down, they called the manager who reviewed the currently policy with them. They still would not let me use both coupons as one said one coupon per purchase. I gave them the product back.

Now for the Ziploc. They had freezer bags on sale (HAHAHA) for 4.48 so I got 2. They also had an flyer coupon for one free sandwich bag 50 ct when your purchase 2 freezer or storage products. I also had a Buy 2/Get 2 so I grabbed 1 more Freezer and one more sandwich 50ct. I also had a Save 2.00 when you buy two from a mailout.

The 2.00 off was not a problem, the 2 free required lots of reading and a call to the manager to verify and the flyer coupon did not go through. The cashier informed me that I had not met the coupon conditions so I could not have the product for free. I would have to buy a further two to get that offer. I attempted to politely review coupon stacking since their policy says an in-store/flyer can be used with other manufacturer coupons and was getting no where...and my kids were approaching break down city. I finally paid for the Sandwich bags and then went to customer service to have the manager review. My money was refunded while I listened to the staff gripe about what a problem this "couponing" thing was going to be.

So, for 10.96 plus a learning experience I'll take my business elsewhere.

Guess I should have stopped at customer service before doing my shop.

The coupons state that they are not good on trial size, so while you were correct with how to stack, you were not correct in the use of the coupons.

Hope next time it goes more smoothly for you.

Neither of my Dove coupons had a size requirement or a trial size exclusion.

Sorry to hear about your stacking experience. I stacked at Save-on-Foods in Victoria on Wednesday, and the cashier was excited about the new policy ( she had the company memo in her drawer below the cash register!). It always takes time for these policies to be implemented and embraced...
