Well I went to buy OFF at Home Depot with my coupons because I had already had an ordeal at LD about 1 1/2 months ago trying to use my coupons. People were posting that Home Depot had some wicked deals on OFF so that it might almost be as good as LD. Thought I would go there and spare myself what could be a terrible shopping trip at LD. Well... no OFF at Home Depot.
So I bolster my courage and decide to try LD. I am only buying 3 OFF products. I have stacks for Finish and Dove as well but I thought I would go simple and try for just OFF.
I have my littlest one with me and we go to CS. I put up my items and my coupons. The cashier reads them over carefully and starts to put them through. I am thinking thank goodness. This will go easy. She has 2 coupons left and a different cashier comes off her break and relieves the cashier who is helping me. The lady helping me is more then happy to let somone else take over the coupons. The new cashier on (but who has been at LD forever) takes the remaining coupons and reads them and tells me I can't use them because it says cannot be combined with any other offer or discount. I tell her that I had talked to her managers the last time I was in over a month ago. That we all read their coupon policy binder which says "if a coupon states not to be combined with another coupon" then it CANNOT be stacked". But if the coupon states something different like not to be combined with another offer etc. That this becomes a grey area and CAN be stacked. I told the cashier all this and encouraged her to look at the binder. She said "it is people like you that get coupon policies changed. And that I push them to use my coupons when they shouldn't. Just so I can get my own way." I said I try not to shop at all here anymore but Home Depot was out of OFF. I paid for my items. She wouldn't even look at me. Said "have a nice day". I said I will. And left.
So for my last LD stack
Total $3.13
Total saved in coupons $20.99
Thanks for reading my long post.
If you want more to read. My prior experience was just after the new wording on the P&G coupons came out. I went with a friend who had never stacked before. She wanted to learn, so I had the stacks ready and met up at LD. This was close to the end of May somewhere. She had some Gillette, OFF and Old Spice (all the coupons from the flyer and tear pads that did NOT have the new wording). All her stuff was put through no problems. I am up next and have quite a bit more. Gillette,Dove,Old Spice,Sensodyne,Crest etc. No more than 2 of each kind etc. My first purchase was OFF. Cashier wouldn't take the coupons. Even though she just did my friends. Called a manager over. Oh ya I am getting ahead of myself. First purchase was Pedigree Dog food. Manager comes over and the coupon says cannot be combined with another coupon. So no go. I agree with him and all goes well. Next purchase up was OFF. She calls and a second manager (I think assistant) comes over. She says because it says cannot be combined with another offer etc. We go through the coupon binder. We argue. She has no polite people skills. Says no. Then says this time only. Is very derogatory about me to the cashier ringing in my stuff. I would go into more detail but it becomes endless. My friend asks "how will we know which coupons we can use next time etc" the manager says it depends on the cashier who is working and what manager is on duty". So no help to my poor friend who is trying to figure this all out. Anyway manager leaves. Cashier would not let me get Sensodyne toothpaste etc. not getting into that one. Has trouble with most of my order and at the end Dove is my last purchase. Doesn't want to ring in any of it. At this point I am so frustrated. Instead of the Manager coming over again I tell the cashier that she said this 1 time she would do it so I felt it applied to my whole order and not just the OFF. At the end I mention she needs to scan the coupon book. She said they don't when you use coupons to pay. I said yes you do. Yadayada she calls over yet another manager who says yes we do. So I got most of what I went for but I was in line alone for 1hr and 10 minutes. And I was so embarrassed and upset. And a new couponer had to see that all. It was just terrible. As far as I know the Actual manager wasn't there. So the others were assistants or co-managers.
Total paid $3.13
Total saved $20.99

Total paid $20
Total saved $141.00

I hear ya. I've had such inconsistent responses from LD, I'm fed up. Every single time I'm told something different. I plan a trip, think I've figured out the new policy, and then I'm told something else has changed. Very frustrating.

Whoa, I feel so lucky reading this. My LD ladies would never do anything like this. Sad to see what some are doing

Did you have a bad time too? If they just had a straight across policy it would be great and would clear up all this confusion. But for now I think I will steer clear of LD.

Roxybabe and I have the same LD ladies and they are amazing. I am sad to hear they are not all like this
. I was talking with one of mine tonight about the restrictive wording and she said the change from P&G might have been prompted by someone at the Kelowna, BC store who had been buying up a ton of diapers for free with stacks and then selling them online for a profit!!! I had not heard of this until tonight. It is too bad people have to abuse a privilege like this.

I shop at the LD Calgary London Towne Square and rarely have a problem EXCEPT with one guy that's always in the white shirt. If you are price matching, BEWARE!! He's on the heavier side and wears glasses. He is the coupon devil. Always makes rude remarks about couponers. Such as a time they were having their giveaway and everyone is a winner, either giftcards, coupons, etc. I was chit chatting with the nice guy that rung my order and Mr.White Shirt interupts saying, "Not like you need anymore coupons". The nice cashier at customer service also PM'd 2 items and Mr.White Shirt gave him the look of death. Says "Why did you price match more then 1? I ONLY PM 1!!". Another time I asked if I could pm [email protected] x 2. his answer:"Not at that price" with sooo much attitude!! Not over exaggerating either. Oh man...I hate him lol

I hear you. Some cashiers and managers are nicer than others. I guess go when the nice guy is working and turn around and leave if its the other one. I am hoping my friends have good things to say next week. They are to call me the minute they leave the store if the cashier lets them do Dove. I only have 2 stacks of things I would like to do and then I am good. Dove and Finish. Just 1 box of Finish and a few hairspray for me and my Stepdad. That's it. But I am not going in if its the same old same old. So if my friends can do it I'll just piggy back there time and cross my fingers it works. If not I'll just give my coupons away and call it good. If I wait long enough I will find good deals elsewhere.

Where abouts in Alberta r u ? I know the one "Manager" Or Assistant Here in Lethbridge i would like to pop. He is a jerk. But the ladies are awesome, And the other guy manager who taught me to stack is great. I do find in EVERY store there is always that crank pot. I just pray he ain't on CS when i go in
I Stopped Stacking myself when the P&G Wording changed, Cause i didn't notice it. And the guy is like " We can't stack this junk, The wording is different. "I was JUST Taught to stack, Then the words changed LOLOL So on Friday night was my first stacking since then. Went great !! Did it 2 more times today
Got to love NICE cashiers, They make it so much nicer. One thing i will state if anyone has spare coupons, Hand the cashier them to share amoungst the rest. They ALL Stack themselves !! And they LOVE Coupons !!

I have to say I had a bit of a weird experience at LD in Mission too. I'd gone out there to get gas (if I drive 15 minutes, I save about 20 cents/litre). I just bought some Dawn dishsoap and some Dove body wash with no stacks. When I got to the cash, the cashier told me I need to go through customer service if I'm stacking. I explained I wasn't stacking just using multiple coupons on different products.
I offered twice to go to the customer service desk and she said it was okay. Then she said that she could only take one coupon because they can't stack the same coupon. I explained they weren't stacks and that I was buying sufficient quantities to cover the coupon requirements. I offered to go to CS again and she finally rang everything through.
Next time, I'll just go to CS, although it'll be a different LD.My blog is Resolving Timeline Issues
I'm doing the Run for the Cure for my mom and my mother in law!
I'm giving away these coupons for free! It's updated fairly regularly.

I dropped them an e-mail because all my coupons were rejected because I was purchasing things on sale or in conjunction with their coupon book offer -“Not to be used in conjunction with any other offer.” - they claim that the new wording means I couldn't use coupons for sale items.
Dear xxx,
Thank you for taking the time to write to us with your comments and concerns.
London Drugs strives to provide excellence in customer service and it is through feedback such as yours that we can improve our standards.
Your comments are appreciated and have been forwarded on to our Store Manager of our xxx location for follow up with her employees.
Unfortunately there does seem to be with confusion with the redemption coupons, as it seems to be a confusion issue for everyone.
I apologize for any inconvenience and have provided our coupon policy for your review.
1. Will London Drugs price match products and then accept stacks of coupons?
Yes. When purchasingidentical products, our price match policy is distinct from the coupon policy.
2. Does LD allow the total of all the coupons stacked to exceed the value of the product?
No, the coupons total value cannot exceed the value of the product. For example, if the customer presents 3 coupons that are $2.50each ($7.50) and the product is $6.00, the last coupon would be processed through the as $1.00 (not to exceed $6.00).
3. When an item is Buy 1, Get 1 free can coupons be used for the purchased item and additional coupons used on the free item?
No. The coupons can only be used on the first item as there must be a purchase in order to use coupons. As an offer already exists to get the second item free, no further coupons are required or can be accepted.
4. Are there times when a customer coupon stacking privilege can be revoked at London Drugs?
Yes. If we are aware that a customer is buying large quantities of products frequently for re-sale, this should not be allowed. London Drugs is a retailer, not a wholesaler. Coupons are not intended to be used for large scale frequent wholesaling practices. The store manager will revoke coupon staking privileges for anyone buying product frequently for resale.
5. Internet coupons printed at home are becoming more popular. The coupon sometimes is smudged or illegible, will you still accept them?
Generally no. We must be able to read and follow the eligibility and restrictions set out by the coupon. If we can not verify the restrictions, or are uncertain of the coupons validity, then it cannot be accepted.
6. Will you accept a U.S. coupon or coupons in US funds if it was issued in the US?
No. We can only accept valid Canadian based coupons. The only exception would be a US coupon that indicates it is valid in Canada. The coupon must still have a Canadian Clearing House mailing address.
Our coupon policy is in place to help extend savings to our customers.
London Drugs has a responsibility to follow the directions clearly stated on coupons. We pride ourselves on offering a superior shopping experience everyday and we hope to keep our coupon stacking policy as long as it’s not abused.
HAPPY SHOPPING.
Sincerely,
Lynn

Well, I always had a problem with the LD closest to me. I was going to transfer all my families Prescription and never step foot in there again so I and finally dropped them an e-mail. Got a reply from them a few days later and their coupon policy had not changed from the last time. The manager also tried to contact me but I was not able to answer the phone. I haven't gone in yet...no need until the next prescription refill. But I'll keep everyone posted on if there was any changes.

Were pretty fortuate at our LD. There usually pretty nice to us. Even the managers always say hi and say " hey it's the coupon guys" Not usually many problems, same with our SOF. We count ourselves pretty lucky. Has really helped feed our big family.
I am sorry to here that you have had some not so nice cashiers. Do you have SOF near you that you could stack?
