So yesterday I'm driving around doing errands and ever since I heard about "recycle walks" and "dumpster diving" on here I've been scoping places out. I found this perfect location but it's a huge recycling bin, I can just barely reach the newspapers on the top and theres a whole bunch on the bottom of the bin but no way I could climb in there so feeling defeated I go home...

Thinking about it later and that tempting stack of newspapers on the bottom I go back this morning with my own little recycling bin to stand on, works like a charm (although my recycling bin cracked from me stepping on it) I step up on my bin, throw my legs over and I'm IN I felt quite proud of myself that is until the bin I'm in starts rolling away!!

I managed to bang myself up a bit scrambling to get out of the darn thing before it had a chance to roll all the way down hill, then I pushed it back up to it's spot exhaled and proceeded to look for newspapers while only committing half my body to the search this time, after all that I found 5 SmartSources.

Well that's my story peeps, and I learned a very important lesson if you're going to hop in a bin with wheels you better put wheel stoppers in place before you jump in! Hopefully this story brightens someones day

(The SmartSource are up for trade BTW)

I'm so glad you didn't get hurt !!!

Maybe bring a friend or someone to 'spot you' when you're inside.

If my 'dump' allowed me to dive into the newspaper bin, I'd definitely try it !!!

    thumbs up to you !!!!!

Never met a dog or coupon I didn't like.

wheel stoppers are a most and i take a folding 2 step stool with me for those bins, it folds up nicely and fits in the trunk, and a spotter is good just in case the garbage man comes..lol

Thank you for sharing your experience. Had to laugh but I am sorry about the bruises. Hope you are ok. My mom broke her nose diving for coupons for me a few years ago. Her nose still looks funny! She will never go near a recycling bin for me again. What we will do for a coupon!
