Websaver FPC Rejected @ Sobeys! what??

So I went to my local Sobeys this evening to use my Chocolate Cheerios FPC and I was happy to see that they had them in stock! I got the Cheerios and went to checkout the cashier said she doesn't know if she can take it and asked me if it was printed I told her no it's from websaver and it got mailed to me and that she should look at the back of the coupon....she took the coupon to the manager and came back out and said sorry I can't take this....what!?!...I said umm that's weird because I've used websaver FPC before at that same sobeys and she said well we don't take these blah blah....

OMG are you kidding me!.... did sobeys change their coupon policy or something? any of you have any problems using websaver coupons there??

Thank you for your email and sorry to hear about your experience.


Whoever told you that is certainly misinformed. Sobey's does accept webSaver coupons and redeems them for full value to the tune of millions annually.


We suggest you speak to the store manager and take your original coupons and mailed envelope.


If you can let us know the store location and address we will send a note to the Sobey's head office too

Head office calls me back after I left them a messgae last night and says they do accept mailed coupons and that they should of accepted them, they are going to call me back once they talk to the Manager and Staff.

I used mine at Sobeys today without any issues at all; the cashier even asked me if I had the coupons when she saw my 2 boxes with the other items I picked up.

well I just called them and the lady was friggin rude! she said that websaver doesn't give them the money back for the coupons and that I should take my coupons up to wal-mart...wow I won't be going back there that's for sure...I sent websaver an email asking them if it's true...pretty weird that they wouldn't get the money back...if it's true...

Hmmm, I just checked their coupon policy which says:

We regret that due to the large number of fraudulent online coupons circulating, Sobeys only accepts original coupons provided directly from the vendor with the exception of internet coupons that you may have received for Club Sobeys bonus points. Club Sobeys bonus points coupons will be accepted provided it is intact and legible, proper size of item is purchased, coupon has not expired, and has a coupon offer code or UPC. We accept one coupon per item.

I very rarely shop there because of their outrageous prices anyway, but that policy gives me more reason not to bother at all.

I don't think websaver would be responsable for reimbursment, it would be the mfr, they are the ones who let websaver give out the cpns.

hmm Ok thanks...yah me to I just stopped there to check to see if they had the cheerios in stock since it's the closest and I read that many ppl couldn't find any I only go there maybe once every 3 months...

I have same problem with metro and they said no coupon from websaver etc just save.ca

This doesn't surprise me. All you have to do is read some of the posts on here from people who are photocopying coupons and bragging about how they pulled one over on the store to see that this is inevitable.

wow that really sucks esp for the one's who are using legit coupons! ...I just hope all these other stores don't change their coupon policy to the one like sobeys...

Used mine at SDM and the cash laughed at me saying i was the 5th one in with the coupon! It's really too bad how some cashes can be so difficult to deal with. Makes you really appreciative of the places you never have issues with.

How can anyone photo copy it when the coupon is printed on some special coupon paper.... dont see how its possible to reproduce it. I havent seen anyone on here saying they photocopied a coupon... where did you see that??

My Sobeys has the checkout lane dividers printed with websaver.ca advertisements! So that's really weird!

I used my 3 at Sobey's today without a problem. There is NO way that a websaver cpn can be photocopied, maybe others that are printables but not the mailed out ones.
