Thread: Newbies Couponer - First Brag

Hey all!
This is my first brag. I’ve been part-time couponing just under a month now... I’ve only used coupons twice before... but today, I was set on using some of my coupons... these are the deals I’ve struck...I’m sure there are greater deals out there... but hey – small steps right?
Metro:
1 box of Special K cereal @3.99 – 1.50 coupon = 2.49 (box had a 5 dollar coupon for ice-cream so that was nice J ).
1 box of Special K cereal @ 3.99 (I didn’t have a second coupon, but I figured with a 5 dollar coupon for ice-cream, I’d fork over 4 bucks... LOL) = 3.99
Then I went home and tore off the ice-cream coupons because Metro conveniently had the ice-cream on sale for 4.99 (regular price was something CRAZY like 8.99) and went back to metro
1 box of ice-cream @ 4.99 – 5.00 coupon = FREE
1 box of ice-cream @ 4.99 – 5.00 coupon = FREE
1 Silk soy milk @ 3.99 – 2.00 coupon = 1.99
4 Allen’s Apple Juices @ 5.00 (these each had 5.00 worth of coupons on them, so that’s 20 dollars of coupons for 5 bucks!) = 5.00
Zellers:
1 Lysol No touch soap dispenser (regular price 14.99) on sale @ 9.99 – 5.00 coupon = 4.99
4 old spice deodorants (regular price 4.99 = 19.96) (on sale at 2.50) =10.00
2 old spice body washes(regular price 4.99 = 9.98) (on sale at 2.50) = 5.00
AND OF COURSE I USED MY BELOVED SPC CARD.
So all of this pre-coupon and sales would have been around 76 dollars... I managed to score all of this for around 35 dollars, and I got 20 dollars of coupons to boot. YAY!
To all of you amazing and expert and experienced couponers... how do you think I did today? Did I make any rookie mistakes? Thanks for all of your feedback!
