All Purpose Rant Away Thread - 3.2.1 GO!

for the past 3 years - money was tight - him on PhD scholarship, me working here and there then going back to school. He graduated with PhD - now making really good money and I graduated working as an office manager in a dental clinic. So we finally have money - and he says I hope you are going to stop couponing and start shopping only at better grocery stores. I shop at No Frills - price match everything there, plus Target and Gt and Fortinos "the better store" he says is so over priced - only thing I buy there are sales and their meat.

He does understand that couponing & price matching helped us save a lot of money and now our pay cheques are going into savings cause I have a mini stock pile of cat food, human food and beauty products.
Glad he is in Rankin Inlet Nunavut for 5 days working.

An habit is an habit no? If you want to continu to couponning maybe with more pleasure than a before necessity why stopping?Saving could go on things like movie and travel so it is still a win-win no?

Sent you more details in a PM, but my DH was the worst for complaining about coupons and PM. "Takes too long, coupons are only for poor people blah blah blah." You mention a stereotype, he said it. Start tracking your savings and put it in a fund towards something you love. Ours is a trip fund. The couponing and PMs pay for our vacation every year. That shut DH up for good lol.

I think it's perception. He finally feels like you both can stop pinching and scraping to save and relax a bit. He probably thinks that you'll appreciate less work (couponing) now.

People who still use the wrong coupons on the wrong product when it clearly has size restrictions. This will never end :(

Needed a spice for dinner tonight. I figured My best bet would be the alsham market down the street. Garam masala was $3 so I purchased it.
Then I had to walk to the big way owned market up my street for tomatoes.They recently added an ethnic section and what so I see?!? they had the EXACT same package of Garam Masala for $.99!!
