Our bi-law dept tickets people if they are more than 12 inches from the curb. I got a ticket because I was more than 12 inches on a circular court (not sure how I was supposed to be less than 12 inches from a curb that is round).

DP: Sorry but he's dead, I need to change all the details and change the billing info.
csr; I can wait if he's not available but he should have made the call.
DP: He's dead. He can't speak to you.
csr: I really need to speak to him first.
DP: He's dead. That's why I need to change everything.
csr: Oh, he's passed away. Why didn't you say that? I'm sorry for your loss.This makes it trickier to change things since he can't speak to me....

One year today !! My only Brother pass away.. missing him sooo much .
Given the number of times I've had variations of this , I suspect it's script and CSRs are thrown by the word dead . Most I've dealt with see to be in busy call centres and the frequently have Indian accents, so I suspect they may not be based in Canada.
There's been times I've had to stop myself going full on dead parrot.
Since bringing Raven home, I have had to bring out the old wooden spoon for slight corrections to the dogs behaviour. I made the mistake of leaving it out on the coffee table overnight. I got up to 4 innocent faces and my favorite wooden spoon was chewed up into many many little pieces. I loved that spoon
So hard watching people spend money they don't have........ But you can't say anything. Plan for the future people!
Not pleased with Shoppers, their entire point of sale (POS) system has not worked all day today. It's a problem, in all the stores within my radius. Just returned and still not fixed. [Since it's system related, might be impacting more SDM stores.]
All day, I wanted to complete an Old Navy online purchase cause of the 40% discounts which ends at midnight, 2% ebates, lots of Old Navy sales and wanted to pay with the 20% discounted The Gap co gift cards which are on sale at Shoppers this sale cycle.
At 8am, POS was down so they were only accepting cash, and nothing else worked (gift card activation, optimum). POS is back up at 8pm, but only randomly processing credit cards (no debit). They still cannot activate gift cards. I had hoped they would have restored a system backup to get them working throughout the day.
Completed my online purchase without the extra 20% discount.
that sucks, rockco - I went to load Optimum coupons, there is trouble there online as well
